Please help a first timer to football manager :-)

HiI have never played any of the football manager's, I am a console guy so play fifa. My brother has been playing this everyday for hours n hours at a time so thought I would buy it. I started as newcastle 3 times and got sacked 3 times, I spent alot of time scouting playing comparing them against what I have to make sure I am buying better, get scout reports on others to make sure there good as back up so I feel the players I buy are not the issue.i play 4-2-3-1 with 2-CDM, a CAM, AMR n AML & ST, i try to mix it up from time to time when its not working and that tactic does not work.Could you give me some help on what tactic I can use based on the newcastle squad you start with. Or if there is a link you could give me to a good tactic to download?

should fit the player profiles of newcastle. You can play Tiote as the BWM(D) and Cabaye as the DLP(S).
