Please please help re product key

I bought this 2010 on release date but no I try to instal it on my new laptop I cannot as I keep cds in a cd case. I have lost the box.

I cannot believe that I am therefore unable to use a product I shelled out on purely due to the fact that I have misplaced the packaging. Please can somebody help me work out how to get around this?

If you have the disc then you don't need the code do you? :S

Downloading through steam and it asks for the code. If I dont do steam will it not require code?!

Promise I am using disc. I wouldn't know how to download any other way.

I wouldn't think so..... But if you do, get in touch with SI. They may be able to help you out.

If you have a disc, why use Steam?

I don't remember requiring a product key when installing via the non-Steam method.

you dont need a key, i just reinstalled it the other week. You just need to disc to be present all the time to be able to play which isnt a probem for me
