Tyler Harvey finds a bit of goalscoring form as we win 2 out of our 4 league matches this month and the other good news was current top goalscorer Reuben Reid returning from his 2 month layoff to score the only goal in the win against Dag & Red.

League Table

View attachment 398305

10 points clear of 4th placed Chesterfield so we are well into the automatic promotion places whilst Burton are on equal points with us but we have the better goal difference.

Player Stats

View attachment 398303

Despite having 2 months out injured Reuben Reid is still 3rd in the goalscoring charts whilst youngster Luke Young tops the assists charts like he has all season.

Well it was lucky a few of youth intake players came to the fore after these injuries and settled in well to the side despite being so young.

So we struggled near the beginning of the month with 2 losses in 3 games before a decent little run of 4 wins in a row with young strikers Herd and Kinder in decent form whilst Young continues to pull the strings on the wing.

League Table

Promotion is not far off now as we have our 4 wins in a row Burtons form nose dives and they lose 3 games in a row and were now an impressive 12 points clear of 4th spot.

So our first game of the month is a draw with second placed Burton which confirms at the least a play off spot for Plymouth.

View attachment 398141

Plymouth go on to lose their next game to Oxford but a 3-2 victory over Bury confirms their promotion to the Skybet League 1 for next season.

View attachment 398138

We went on to lose to Wimbledon in the following game but a 2-0 victory over Hartlepool sealed the Skybet League 2 Title for Plymouth Argyle with one game to go.

We manage to win our last game of the season and Kinder has been in fine form for a 16 year old! Young has been in his usual awesome form whilst Lecointe has even got a few goals since returning from his serious injury.

League Table

View attachment 398130

We win the league in the end by an impressive 9 points with Burtons late form nose diving seeing them drop into 3rd place but still get promoted.

Young tops the assits charts along with being in second place for most man of the matches and has the 3rd highest average rating.

Congrats on promotion mate! Many of your players able to make the step up you reckon?

Thanks mate, i will try and get rid of a few i dont think are up to the challenge but most of the side is pretty young so should be able to improve and we dont have that much money at the club so beyond free transfers we will struggle to bring anyone in. Survival will be all i hope for next season

May 2014 - End Of Season Stats

Top Goalscorer - Reuben Reid - 17 Goals

View attachment 398069

Reid was our top goalscorer this year but i doubt he will be here after the summer as i dont plan on paying Yeovil the 100k they want for him!

Player of the Year - Luke Young

View attachment 398068

Despite only being 21 our youth academy product Luke Young lead the team from the front this season and was the main reason we secured Promotion banging in 13 goals and making a further 25 assists in all competitions.

Young Player of the Year - Dean Santangelo

View attachment 398065

He was one of my first signings for the club last summer and despite only being brought in as a backup keeper has been an instant success and has made the Number 1 jersey his own this season and was our most consistent performer.

Season Expectations

View attachment 397934

So im only expected to avoid relegation but havent been given very much to improve the squad luckily i find out one of the sell on clauses for an old player can be sold of for almost half a million and im right back in the money and ready to sign a few players.

View attachment 397931

Players Out

So 7 or so players leave who were on big money for the club and not going to make it at this level like Cole, Lockwood and Blanchard and the big deal out was selling one of the recent youth intake players for close to half a million but this unfortunately happened right on deadline day so i couldnt spend the money we got from it.

Players In

So we practically sign a whole extra team as 11 players come in to the side all on free transfers with the players who are hoping to make the first team all experienced players some with Premier League experience. As we have such a young squad i felt we needed to add a bit of experience and here are my key 3 transfers for the club.

Key 3 Signings

Shaun Wright-Phillips - MR

View attachment 397921

With Luke Young on one side and SWP on the other we should be able to terrorize a few defences down the wings and give our strikers plenty of ammunition

Gary Taylor Fletcher - ST

View attachment 397917

The experienced former Blackpool man can play several positions but i plan on sticking him up top as we have lost last seasons top goalscorer Reuben Reid after his loan ended, hopefully he can bang in a few goals to secure our safety.

Jody Morris - DMC

View attachment 397913

The former Chelsea man will be the rock in our midfield and is a big signing in terms of sorting the youngsters out and leadership and has already been made club Vice Captain.

Great signings. I think you will be effective on the wings with the pace of SWP and you have a lot of experienced players which is good.

We got knocked out of the Cup but that was expected against the likes of Reading but despite our injuries we start the league season off well with 3 wins out of 5 with old boy Jon Parkin starting his Plymouth career in good form and centre back Curtis Nelson amongst the goals playing as a make shift striker.

League Table

View attachment 397721

A brilliant position but we did have an easy start to the season and will have to wait til we face some of the big guns like Middlesbrough and Blackpool before we know if we can dream of more than a relegation battle as Mourinho would say were in a false position at the moment.

Another good month as we win 2 out of 4 league games and new signing Hitchcock comes back from injury and knocks in 4 goals in 4 games along with Parkin and SWP getting goals in the Oldham game which was a massive 3 goal comeback after going 2-0 down at one point.

Currently in the playoff places after our amazing start to the new season as it shows the Bookies are not always right with Promotion favourites Blackpool currently in the relegation zone and staring at back to back relegations.

Plymouth Argyle Starting 11 and Tactic

View attachment 397715

Santangelo is on International duty for over a month but i thought i would show you my preferred starting 11 now i have had a couple of months to look at everyone. So thats 6 new players in the starting lineup from last seasons side. I was hoping Taylor Fletcher would have made more of an impact but he has struggled for fitness since his injury and can really only come on as a sub at the moment.

Enjoying reading this mate. Did a Plymouth save on FM13 and was my favourite save, really enjoyed doing it. Luke Young was brilliant for me. Took me 6 seasons get to the prem, and he served me for a couple seasons in the prem as well. Curtis Nelson I kept until prem but unfortunately didn't seem perform to well at that level. Lecointe was my other big player, kept him till after I won promotion from championship. He's defo only a back-up player at championship level but more than adequate to do a job. Good luck mate and KIU

Awesome start, if you can keep the injuries away I reckon you'll have a bigger chance staying up.

Young and Nelson have been pretty awesome so far and i hope it only takes me 6 seasons to get to the Premier League! Lecointe has been out injured pretty much all of last season and i hope he does well this season or i may not give him a new deal. Im trying to build a youthful team with some academy players and make some profit selling players rather than going for too many experienced older guys on a lot of money which can be one of my failings in other saves. Players like Gary Caldwell would be improve my side but i couldnt justify ?6k a week for him.

After the good start to the season im hoping for at least mid table obscurity.
