Ben Purrington Injured Again - 2 Months Out

November Fixtures

So we start the month with a couple of cup games first off beating Gillingham to move into the FA Cup 2nd round and then we beat supposed League 1 Favourites Brentford in the Paint Trophy but they did take us to penalties.
It was all square with Sheff Utd at half time but a change in personnel and tactics helped us to an impressive 4-1 win with Stead grabbing a hattrick, we then went on to lose to recently relegated Barnsley with Eastmond scoring our only goal.
We then went on to beat another promotion chasing side in Tranmere and then thrashed league 1 whipping boys Rotherham with Jon Stead on form again.

League Table

We are starting to look like Promotion Contenders now after this many games rather than it being a good start, an impressive 6 points clear at the top already but some tough games still to come.

Player Stats

View attachment 396248

Jon Stead is having an amazing first season with us and tops the Golden Boot chart with 14 league goals which is amazing considering last season our top goalscorer Parkin only had 16 goals.

We draw our opening game of the month to Stevenage in the FA Cup but manage to win the replay and go through to the 3rd round where we will face off against Derby County.
We won our first league game of the month against Crewe thanks to goals from our defenders as Dickson and Canavan got the important goals with Jon Stead scoring a brace against Portsmouth to confirm another win, this was the game he picked his injury up in and he was so close to making it a hattrick.
We had another one of our defenders to thank after the Portsmouth game as Berry scored a very late goal deep into injury time to secure the 3 points against Shrewsbury but we ended the month on a downer losing to recently relegated Birmingham in our last game of the year.

7 points clear at the top of the table now with just over half the games gone. Surely as we head into the New Year a couple of key signings will see us over the finish line and playing Championship football next season.

Despite missing the last couple of league games Jon Stead still leads the race for the Golden Boot.

Winter Transfer Window - January 2016

So the Board are being very annoying, despite having well over ?1.5 Million in the transfer budget the board will not let me raise the wage budget which is already over their budget at 65k a week!

Players Out

So i had to get rid of a few players and their hefty wages before i could bring anyone in. So the likes of Lecointe, Morris, Jones, Parson and Dave Norris all left on free transfers. None of them were getting any game time and all had their contracts expiring in the summer so i helped them along so they would free up some wages for me.

Players In

So i brought in 2 players with Premier League experience, one with a **** of a lot more than the other.
So first off i brought in Grant Holt you will see why in the next update with 2 more strikers getting injured, I think he can definitely still do a job at this level.
The other player i brought in around a month after the transfer window on a free and is probably the best player (Reputation wise) that Plymouth Argyle have ever had at their club.

Ashley Cole - DL

Amazing signing in Ashley Cole!! Do you find experienced players work well in the lower leagues? I'm starting a career with York City so looking for tips :) I also loving the Free signings lol

They can do, I like to buy them but over all of my saves most people can tell i dont like spending big bucks and prefer free transfers. The main downside to this is the agents and sometimes the wages can be a lot more than they would be normally but thats because your not paying a fee. Some work out and others dont, I think you have to look at their past histories, Andy Johnson started well but he has always been injury plagued so i had to expect that. I also like to give most of them performance based contracts like Ashley Cole who wanted a lot more money up front in his wages but instead will get a better appearance fee, so if hes rubbish and doesnt get in the team it wont effect me nearly as much.

Cole is a great signing even though he is a ****! Holt looks quality as well.

Holt is a beast in this league, i have always quite likes Cashley Cole maybe because everyone else hates him, Hopefully he may join Liverpool in the summer IRL

wow, just caught up with this and you're doing great!
just wondering though what skin are you using as it looks like the normal one but it has "instant result". Thanks in advance :)

Thanks mate, it is called the instant result skin i think, Its pretty useful for my saves im dominating on with Dinamo and Dundee United so i can skip the easy games, i havent used it much for the Plymouth save though as i prefer to be able to change my tactics and make my own subs.

January Fixtures

A very busy month for us as we beat Derby in the FA Cup and then manage to take Watford to a replay. We manage to win 4 league games out of 6 during the month too. Grant Holt managed to score his first goal for the club against Watford to help us get the replay in the FA Cup whilst striker Tom Hitchcock scored against the MK Dons in his first game back after breaking his foot.

League Table

16 games to go and we sit 10 points clear of second and third place and would be even more if we hadnt have lost to Hartlepool at the end of the month.

Player Stats

View attachment 396032

Jon Stead has fallen down the pecking order in the Golden Boot race with old man Kevin Davies having an amazing season with Preston.

10 points clear is pretty impressive, keep it up.

Thanks mate, seems like no one else wants to challenge us, feel like my form hasnt been that impressive to warrant being a massive 10 points clear.

No more injuries! Doubt we have anyone left to injure.

Feb Fixtures

Not a good start to the month as Watford knock us out of the FA Cup 4th rnd replay and then we only manage to scrape a late draw with Play Off Contenders Brentford with a Stead late goal.
Our bogey team Leyton Orient then went and beat us comfortably i think they beat us earlier on in the season or that may have been last year.
We get back on track in the league by smashing 6 goals past Notts County with 5 goals in the first half ans Grant Holt grabbing a brace before we manage to beat Oxford with a late set piece goal scored by on loan star Conroy.

Oh dear after that poor month things are not looking as good at the top as they did a month ago with Rotherham halving a points lead to just 5.

We started the month with some Champagne football putting 5 goals past Fleetwood and Coventry before coming back down to earth with a bump as we go on to lose our next 3 out of 4 league games.
It could be seen as a saving grace that the 3 teams that beat us are only mid table meaning them gaining points from us means little in the Promotion race.

7 points clear now with a game in hand on Rotherham who have been up here all season but are now looking over their shoulders at Notts County creeping up on them. With only 6 games left we have all but secured promotion back to the Championship

Player Stats

View attachment 395706

Jon Stead is 5th in the Golden Boot chart but i think that the reason we dont have many players near the top of the player stats charts is because of our big squad and the rotation policy that has worked well for us so far, I would rather have a good team than a star player

Well i forgot to get a fixtures screenshot but we made it hard for ourselves drawing 4 of our last 6 games of the season but won the other two well including Mooney grabbing a hattrick in 5-1 win over Shrewsbury.

League Table End of Season

View attachment 395684

So we win the Skybet League 1 by 5 points and will be playing Championship football next season along with Rotherham as Notts County's chase for an automatic spot fizzles out in the last few weeks.

Player Stats - End Of Season

View attachment 395683

So our only player to make any impact on the player charts was Jon Stead in 5th place for the Golden Boot having scored a decent 23 goals in the league this season.

Right im off out now for a bit will post the end of season stats up next.
