September Fixtures

A much better month as the fixtures are a lot kinder to us and we pick up 4 wins out of 5 with 3 in the league. Jack Cork was key to our success first against Stoke scoring a very late injury time winner and then against his former club Southampton he started the scoring before Captain Luke Young grabbed a second goal and Clyne an own goal to round off an impressive victory.
We then lost to Norwich in a tight game were our Strikers just couldnt put the ball in the back of the net our second string managed another cup victory not long after with Lennon on fire and Feruz getting another goal.
We ended the month with Clayton scoring the only goal of the game against Wigan to secure another 3 points for us which will be much needed with Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd on the horizon.

So the bookies couldnt have been more wrong at this early stage of the season as they touted recently promoted Plymouth, Watford and West Ham to go back down and we are all the way up in 11th but still the lowest of the 3 Promoted sides!

October 2018

Shouldnt take too long to storm through the season as were playing fewer games than in the lower leagues with only 7 games over the next 2 months.

October Fixtures

View attachment 392511

Aah not such a great month as we lose 3 out of our 4 matches including West Ham knocking us out of the Cup, We do have goals in the side though which shows even when we lose and we gained a huge draw against Chelsea with Aina a former Chelsea Academy Player scoring a very early goal against his old club before Eden Hazard equalized but we managed to hang on for the 1 point.

League Table

So we drop down a couple of places to 13th this month with only 1 point from 3 games but after the Man Utd game we have a few very winnable fixtures coming up.

In real life Man U would be a winnable game! A good start to the prem at 13th, keep it up.

Ah yes, As a Liverpool fan im pretty smug at the moment but United and Moyes always seem to do well in most of my saves, Im glad we are doing so well at the moment, I reckon a couple seasons of relegation battles to mid table and then push for Europe depending on the budget

One of our rubbish former goalkeepers is talking like i should get the sack! WTF, they were in league 2 when i took over i would like to think even if we did get relegated i would keep my job

November Fixtures

So as expected we lose to Tottenham and Man Utd but we end the month on a high with a decent win against Blackburn with Graham getting an early goal before Blackburn scored twice and went into the lead before half time. In the second half centre back Conroy scored a powerful header before Club Captain Young scored a late winner to end our bad run of recent form.

League Table

In 13th place in the league with 13 points after our first 12 games in the league, We are currently a decent 5 points clear of the relegation zone a lot higher than i imagined at the beginning of the season.

December Fixtures

So this was one **** of a topsy turvy month as we win 3 out of 7 league matches over the busy Christmas period. We start the month losing to Hull before comfortably beating Swansea thanks to 3 late goals.
We then lost to West Brom and West Ham before going on to beat Watford 2-0 with Niles scoring late in the first half and Trotta sealing the win with a late second goal.
We then lost to Everton and ended the year with an impressive win over Fulham were we went ahead with a couple of early goals before managing to cling on to pinch all 3 points.

League Table

Up in 12th at the moment and only a couple points off breaking into the top half. Were currently 6 points clear of the relegation zone at the moment and with the right signings next month can start planning for a second season in the Premier League.

January 2019 - Winter Transfer Window

Players Out

So Bentaleb left on loan after moaning about a lack of game time whilst Fernandez and Walters left on free transfers 6 months earlier than their contracts were up to free up some wages.
GK's Crowe and Long also left for around a Million each, they both had good potential but after buying Delac and then getting OBrien to renew his contract they were well down the pecking order.
Trotta also left for ?1.6 Million going to Norwich which was just under what he was valued at but he was on big wages and hadnt performed so i was glad to cut my losses.

Players In

I brought in AMC Pereira who is one for the future but the two players for now who i feel will be key for our season are England players Milner and Andy Carroll. These two are a very high calibre for us and will both go straight into the first team.

Well the year doesnt start well with Man City thrashing us in the league and then Bournemouth knocking us out of the FA Cup 3rd rnd.
We had wingers Graham and Purrington to thank for 3 points against Stoke in an impressive 3-0 victory before its back to business as usual with 3-1 loss to Arsenal.
We managed to throw away a 2 goal lead against Norwich and then almost saw Southampton do the same to us as we went from 3-0 down in the first half to getting a couple of goals back and trying to push for the win.

League Table

View attachment 391635

Currently in 14th place 6 points clear of the relegation zone, the loss to Southampton was the killer blow this month as they are right in the relegation battle too and a win would have seen us well clear of the chasing pack.

View attachment 391626

Another poor month as we pick up a mere 4 points in 5 league games losing to Aston Villa, Man Utd and Chelsea but we did manage to win my 300th game in charge as Plymouth manager against Wigan thanks to Captain Luke Young, someone who has been there for all 300 games.
We did also manage to pick up a decent draw against Liverpool after the fixture people gave us the killer 3 of Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea in a row, After the Tottenham game we have 8 very winnable fixtures so i would like to think we should picking up at least 4 wins in the next couple of months and secure our survival.

League Table

View attachment 391624

So we have dropped down a couple of places to 16th place but we are now a further point clear of the relegation zone.

Goalscoring Heroes From Last Month Niles and Carroll Miss Rest of Season

View attachment 391610View attachment 391609

Carroll will be a huge miss for the rest of the season as in only 3 months at the club he has been our top goalscorer at the club with his 7 goals in 12 games.

April Fixtures

View attachment 391608

A much better month with 2 wins out of 4 as January signings Milner and Carroll play a key role in our survival and Carroll shows why he will be missed for the last few games of the season.

All the way up in 14th now as we reach the magical number of 40 points and will be playing Premier League football next season as we are now 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

Absolutely brilliant mate. Got any regens lined up to make their debuts and stuff yet?
thanks mate, We havent got any really good academy products to be honest and i havent got the time or money to bring too many youngsters in or give them game time. Aina and Niles are both regens i think and they have both done well for us so far. Andy Clarke the youth intake striker could come good for us one day but when we are fighting for relegation i dont fancy putting any of the youngsters in the side

So we start the month well with a big 3-0 victory over relegation threatened Everton before a bore draw against West Brom and we then ended our season with a whimper losing 1-0 to Fulham

League Table

So its Everton, Wigan and Hull that get relegated so the Media were well out with their prediction of us, West Ham and Watford getting relegated as we finish the season in a very impressive 13th place and dont spend any time in the relegation zone throughout the whole year.

Excellent season, Hopefully Carroll can fire you higher up the table next year as 7 goals for a top scorer is pretty horrid. Atleast your goals are well spread though.
