Summer Transfer Window

24 Players Leave Plymouth

View attachment 390682

Former Captain and long serving player Hourihane is the big player to leave the club having been here since before i arrived along with getting big wages of the bill in the shape of Grainger and Ryan Hall.

Season Expectations

View attachment 390681

By the time we had been given the expectations i had sort of spent all of our transfer budget anyway which was more around ?13Million plus about 100k a week to play with in the budget.

Players Out

So young centre back Conchie joined Ipswich for ?450k whilst Bentaleb who was loaned out for a part of last season joined Nottm Forest for just over ?2 Million.
So along with all the free transfers out we managed to free up over another 100k a week in the wage budget.

Players In

So as mentioned before the key thing for this season was too try and address the goalscoring issues we had last season and i hope i have with the players brought in.
So i brought in 5 players one on a big transfer fee, one for compensation as he was only young and 3 free transfers.

Well first lets do the big transfer, I brought in Danny Ings from Wigan for ?11.75Million after he had a fantastic goalscoring season for them last year but he is on big wages and i really need him to work out.

Danny Ings - ST - ?11.75 million

View attachment 390679

Well this next signing makes me think the FM God's just look over us and take the mick! Literally a day after i sign Ings on big money and big wages i get offered Diego Costa on a free transfer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hes only 30 and has just been released by Man City after refusing to sign a new deal.

Diego Costa - ST - Free

View attachment 390678

Next up was a young regen from Crewe i paid around ?750k compensation for if i had the money i would have brought in 2 of his team-mates as well as Crewe have some awesome regens coming through.

Liam Owen - DRL - ?750K

View attachment 390677

I also picked up 2 more defenders on free transfers with Paul Dummett possibly coming in as our first choice left back and McGeehan able to play at RB and DMC some of you may remember i had him in my Dinamo Zagreb save too.

Paul Dummett - DL - Free

Cameron McGeeham - DR/DMC - Free

Didn't think I would see Diego Costa at Plymouth on anyones saves :D

He is 30 on my season as well but still plays for Madrid and is worth ?27m still so makes it a fantastic signing for you.

Ings and Costa upfront! Defenders will be ******* themselves!

Couldnt believe it either! Dont know what happened to him at City he joined them after the first season and played over 150 games for them in the league scoring 50 plus goals but the season before last he stopped playing as much with City only playing one up top and proffering Icardi and Fierro and last season he didnt make one first team appearance for them. Not sure if he had beef with Guardiola as he took over in 2018 the same time he stopped playing after Pellegrini retired.
Anyway im chuffed to bit and hope Ings can come up with the goods too.

League Odds Havent Changed . . . .

View attachment 390638

So we are still seen as 2000-1 outsiders to win the title but at least were joint with Bournemouth as the bottom club and predicted 19th this season higher than last year.

August Fixtures

View attachment 390635

So just like last season we get given a very tough start to the year, we lost a hard fought game against Tottenham but i was happy with our fight back after going 3-0 down whilst Man Utd destroyed us in the next game.
Andy Carroll got a brace in a decent win in the Cup against MK Dons before we ended the month with a draw against Southampton in a game we really should have won with Diego Costa grabbing his first goal for the club.

Ings Out For 5 Weeks After Poor Start To Season

So we started the month with a thrashing by Liverpool and then had a disappointing 1-0 defeat to West Ham before managing to beat Leeds in extra time in the cup with CAC (Carroll and Costa) on form for us and we manage to produce some of our cup form in the league with Carroll grabbing the winner against Nottm Forest

Down in the doldrums but 3 out of our 4 losses have been to the big teams and we always seem to have a list of poor fixtures to start the season.

Not a good start to the season but results should pick up now.

Unlucky fixtures there, things will pick though.

Well were still struggling but Carroll is looking good as he scores in all 4 games this month despite us losing to Watford and then Chelsea, we manage to turn it around with a win against West Brom as early goals from Young and Carroll seal the big 3 points.
We end the month with a win against QPR in the cup and hopefully a couple of back to back wins will help the morale at the club which is really low at the moment.

Oh dear, after not spending a day in the relegation zone last season we havent been out of it so far this year.

Player Stats

View attachment 390475

Costa is looking good with the 4 assists but Carroll is in the top 5 for the Golden Boot after an impressive start to the new season, he obviously upped his game with Ings and Costa coming in on big money.

Some good signings, think you'll stay up easy as you should have plenty of goals in the team with the likes of Carroll, Costa and Ings and you haven't had the easiest of fixtures. Can see you going on a run through late November and December!

Interesting that Carroll is on a roll.

Must be trying a bit harder with Ings and Costa around, Ings has been pants so far but Costa and Carroll upfront is a decent parntership

I can only hope, Our fixture list is always a bit mean, was looking through it and we dont play any of the decent teams in the last 8 matches of the season so if we do get in a relegation battle i think we should be ok.

November 2019

Bridcutt Out For 5 Months

View attachment 390314

He was only just coming back from another injury and did this, I think his Plymouth career is over as his contract is up at the end of the season and an injury like this can break you at this age.

November Fixtures

View attachment 390313

So yet again we start the month with a couple of hard matches as Man City and Arsenal both beat us with ease but we do manage to turn it around with a decent win against Bournemouth with CAC on good form and Milner grabbing a third after the break too.
It was then another goal by Andy Carroll that sealed a win against Swansea as things start to look a little better for us.

League Table

13 points in 13 games as we win 2 games in the league this month as many as we had won in the previous 3 months and we move up to the lofty position of 14th.

CAC are on fire at the moment with Costa setting them up and Carroll smashing them into the back of the net! Carroll already has more goals this season than he got last season as our top goalscorer and Costa has been key to our victories.

Ings Wants Out

View attachment 390309

So record signing Ings wants to leave already after not getting enough game time but he has been shocking so far for us, in 9 starts hes only managed 1 goal and am i really going to drop Carroll or Costa for him after recent matches? I think i will have to take a hit on his transfer fee but i will be glad now to get this grumpy man and his wages off my wage budget.

Stadium Expansion Announced

View attachment 390308

I think it works out at around 5000 extra seats, i requested it after our Capital One Cup game against Blackburn was sold out and the board accepted straight away.

December Fixtures

View attachment 390306

A very busy month as we play 8 matches including 7 in the league and manage to pick up 3 draws and 2 wins in the process better than i would have expected to be honest.
So we start the month with a bore draw against Blackburn before losing badly to Stoke with transfer listed Danny Ings getting only his second goal for the club.
We then had a set piece to thank for a winner against Norwich as we claim 3 more precious points in our battle against relegation before getting knocked out of the cup by Blackburn in a very close game.
We then struggled to find the target in bore draw games against struggling Fulham and bottom of the table Sunderland as we just threw winnable games away before beating Aston Villa as forgotten man Max Clayton came off the bench to grab a late brace and all 3 points
We then ended the year with a 1-0 loss to Table Topping Man Utd in a game we really deserved something from having hit the woodwork 3 times in the match.

League Table

View attachment 390300

So we drop down into 15th but were 7 points clear of the relegation zone now and only 3 points behind Southampton all the way up in 10th

Player Stats

View attachment 390299

Costa is still hanging on in their on the assists charts but i would proffer it if he banged in a few more goals instead.

Some good results, what role are you playing Costa in?

Depends on the tactic, either a complete forward or advanced forward, Hes not doing well at getting the goals but if we play two up top he does seem to be able to set them up for others.

Winter Transfer Window - January 2020

Players Out

So i forgot to get a screenshot of the transfer history and im a lot further on than the story in the save so for no spoilers i will just tell you what went on. Ings moved to Aston Villa for ?8 Million so we lost around ?3.5 Million on him in the transfer but to get his 80k a week wages off the wage budget was good enough for me especially as im terrible at selling players.

Players In

Right so 5 players came in on free transfers with all of them hopefully helping in the defensive areas with a couple of centre backs, a couple of defensive minded mid fielders and a new back up GK.
The one people may recognise is Matt Partridge who i had on my old Limerick save.

Elijah Goodwin - DC

Hopefully a little splurge on free transfers will see us to safety for another season
