Mertens only scored 6 goals for the season as a striker???

Correct, Mertens joined in Jan and only contributed 6 goals. poor performance from a striker but I largely just let it slide as goals were coming from everywhere else. Only Barca scored more goals than this Valencia team across Europes top leagues while no team conceded less.

Same as in RL, not every transfer works out. The position itself can perform, demonstrated by Mousett in my Sheffield United save.

Sheffield Utd Testing ok. 3 of the 5 losses were in the first 6 games of the season during the "settling in phase"

You will notice in the OP i outlined the need for a tactic to settle in, the next two screens demonstrate that as the show the 1st and 2nd half of the season.

Lastly, the youth did well with the tactic too which is always important.
