Positions that the Invincibles used on CM?

I am looking to achieve that center midfield domination that the Invincibles had with Gilberto and Vieira.

I was thinking of three pairs:

CM on def and CM on support

BWM on def and BTB

BWM and CM support.

Any suggestions?

Gilberto is a disciplined CM(D) and Vierra is a B2B. The important thing here is to play narrow with narrow wide midfielders(sit narrower, cut inside with ball) that have extra creative freedom(more risky passes), Pires and Ljungberg did great with this set up . Upfront, it's a F9/Trequartista(Bergkamp) and an advanced forward(Henry). The full backs would be auto duty, able to dovetail between attacking and not attacking.
