Posting pictures at full size

How can this be done? I've seen people in threads who post pictures as FM Base attachments and they display at full resolution. When I do that it appears like this

SO, how do people achieve posts that look like this, where the pictures are referenced from FM Base, and they display at full resolution?

As you can see, mine either display as thumbnails or they minimise in resolution. Thanks for any help.

I'm assuming that the forum has a control where images attached to posts that are too large are automatically shrunk so they don't stretch the page.

To achieve the result shown in the last two pictures, use the [IMG ] tags instead of attaching?
