pre contracts

Afternoon all.
Currently managing Truro City in the BSS and have got to January and a few players on my shortlist are out of contract in the summer but I can't sign them on pre contracts.
I am after a keeper from Gillingham but they want £50k for him and as I dont have the cash I am prepared to wait until the summer for him.
Anybody help me please as to why this is.

Maybe you clicked "make an offer" when you should've clicked "approach to sign"?

There is no approach to sign option mate.

maybe it is because I am using in the full game my demo save game or maybe because that option is not avaliable when managing in the non league.
if they have taken it out then surely it is not replicating the real game and if so that is ****.

its because you cant sign a player on a pre contract from another team in the same country you are managing. You can only sign players from abroad. Hope thay helps you. So the game is replicating real life.
