Pre-Match and Tactical decisions

I am just starting out on FM13, and trying to get my head around the new approach to tactics required........

How do you best interpret the opposition Team Report and what are the most important sections?

I tend to look at the Goal Types and Assists stats as the most important, and try to set a formation and give player instructions to counter the threats, and also to exploit weaknesses, but I am not sure I am getting it right.

look at the squad depth compared to yours,that can help and also the comparison page. you'll be able to find out more about their strengths and their weakness.

For example,by looking at the depth page i targeted the teams lb. He wasn't the fastest player so i looked at my best right winger and then chose the fastest. Then i looked at the comparison page and i found out the opposition were better in jumping than me. So i set crossing to drill and voila won 4-1 with theo getting 3 assissts from the right and a goal too if i remember rightly
