Bolstered my team to fit my 4-5-1 tactic with a couple of players. Eagles provides options out wide with Ragued and Diarra my defensive midfielders. Luke Garbutt is a good addition at left back and Ben Amos will grow as a Goalkeeper to hopefully oust Gabor Kiraly.

Rodallega wasn't as good as my other strikers so I cashed in on the first offer I got. Since joining Forrest he has scored a few goals for them! The rest leave for first team experience.

Pre-Season Friendlies

I didn't play any of the friendlies as I never do, I left them to my Assistant manager. Looking forward to the start of the Sky Bet Championship and life at Craven Cottage.

I was actually going to start a Fulham story on here tomorrow lol.

I'll be following yours, Good luck.

Fulham Football Club

August - November 2014

With a few months experience at the club under my belt things are beginning to take shape. The squad will not set the world alight but they are more than capable of taking us onto better things. I am looking forward to watching the progress of young winger Patrick Roberts - he is a very exiting prospect.

Sky Bet Championship

As you can see our form has been mixed. August started well, unbeaten in our first five games, but September was a terrible month that taught me a lot about this Division. Reading pulled us apart and Nottingham Forest followed shortly after, with Birmingham adding to the disappointment.

November was a month of tinkering and it seems to have steadied us a little bit tactically. We defend more as a unit and it seems to be helping us keep the game in our favour, still riding our luck along the way.

Capital One Cup

30dkked.jpg

Desperately unlucky against Chelsea but did well to reach this far after being 3-0 down at Blackburn in the first round! The boys did well holding Chelsea at 1-1 for a long period but their superior fitness and skill paid dividends as they went on to win the game comfortably.

League

Our recent form has catapulted us from mid-table to 3rd. I aim to stay in and around this area for the whole Season as I want to win promotion to the Premier League.

Awards

I have won the Manager of the Month Award for October after 4 wins in 5 games.

Other News

25.10.2015: Sam Allardyce sacked by West Ham after 5 points in opening 9 games leaves them 2nd bottom.

Quite a poor two months. We are winning games well but losing all to easily, against teams I think we should be beating. Our away form is horrendous. Games like the 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth include a red card and 2 penalties for goodness sake! Beating Watford was a great game for us but we need to keep up that intensity.

League

v81ts6.jpg

Still up there where we want to be but I am hoping we can push forward and get into the top 2 come the end of the Season for that automatic finishing spot.

Other News

Fulham owners increase transfer budget to £24m due to the healthy state of finances at the club.
Fulham announce 3 transfer deals will conclude on January 1st 2015.

Fulham Football Club

January - March 2015

Transfers

ejzs5c.jpg

Very busy January transfer window, with the increase in transfer budget from £4m to £24m we were able to chase players to take us to the next level. Romero & Balanta were no brainers, Ed Upson was agreed pre-budget change but has been great thus far. Michael Keane came in because I had no trust in Amerobieta or Bodurov.

On deadline day Anderson, Markovic & Wilson were all available and I thought they would add crucial strength in the run to the end of the Season, and they have all been great so far. Valdes was signed much later on, on a free transfer after failing to find a club all Season he was finally prepared to talk to me - we pay him a lot but he will be worth it, much better than the closest Amos. We have only conceded 1 goal in 4 games with him.

1rd7a8.jpg

A lot more players left in January but on loans and frees. All leaving because unhappy with lack of appearances, but they were not good enough. Ruiz leaves us on loan for the rest of the Season as well because I do not rate him highly enough as with Bodurov, I wanted him gone and replaced - Amerobieta would of left if someone had actually wanted him!

FA Cup

wjaz3a.jpg

We held them at 1-1 until the 75th minute and then their superior fitness and skill pulled them through, much like the Chelsea game in the Capital One Cup earlier on in the Season.

Sky Bet Championship

b70415.jpg

Form has been much better since the turn of the year with our new players at the club. A few defeats I wasn't happy with but lots of good results. We also seem to have a high number of disallowed goals, nearly one or two every game! Derby result was a shame, but since then Derby have been on free-fall which could allow us to catch up, and Watford game put us second and hauled us back into the race for third.

League

28o5n8.jpg

Not exactly where we want to be, but with Derby's form disappearing it's going to be an interesting one. All the teams around us are hitting form at the same time so it will go down to the wire in the race for Promotion.

Season Finale

Sky Bet Championship

2hfjqkg.jpg

Stumbled a bit coming into this month but finished off strong against two sides fighting relegation. With 2 games remaining it is very, very tight and any of three teams could realistically grab 2nd place.

League

eapkzc.jpg

As you can see it's a three way race between Norwich, Middlesbrough and us. The interesting thing is our next two games;

izuoa9.jpg

Norwich play Rotherham, who will be relegated if they lose, and Middlesbrough finish the Season with a visit from 8th place Brighton. We need to win both of our next two games and we will finish in 2nd place. Norwich will beat Rotherham and Boro will beat Brighton - it will go to the final day.

Oooooooooh talk about a tense end to the season. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Welcome to the game today, we have a massive fixture for you. Fulham vs Middlesbrough; the winner would be in contention for a 2nd place finish after todays result. If Fulham win today then they will go to Norwich knowing a win will send them up.

Here is the team news, as confirmed by the managers themselves.

Patrick Roberts wins Young Player of The Season award and makes the subs bench of the Team of The Season, our only player to be recognised.

I guess you could say its been the Patrick Roberts show. He has shone out on the Right-wing as an inside forward and pulled us out of more situations than I care to count. Fantastic talent.

Season 2 Christmas Update

Board Expectations

Premier League: Mid Table
FA Cup: 5th Round
Capital One Cup: 4th Round

Transfer Budget: £28.79m
Wage Budget: £775k

Signings

24wbq55.jpg

I am very pleased with our transfer business over the Summer. Bakkali joins from PSV after his contract expired in the Summer (he signed a pre-contract agreement back in January as I fended off bids from Manchester United etc.)

Stafylidis was signed due to his loan agreement and at such a cheap price will make good cover for left back Kurzawa, signed from Monaco. He looks like a great prospect and we will do well to keep hold of him.

Shawcross and Joel Ward join from Relegated clubs Stoke and Crystal Palace after their transfer listings at good prices and will help solidify the defence.

Anderson and Fletcher both join from Manchester United after their releases and will bring much needed Premier League experience into the centre of midfield. Macleod has been bought in for his immense promise and loaned out for the Season for first team exposure.

Sales

zy62yh.jpg

Lots of others released and sent out on loan such as Diarra, Amorebieta (Burnley) & Shaun Hutchinson (Sheffield Wednesday) due to not being good enough and not able to sell or needed first team experience.

Premier League

f1y6w3.jpg

So far our performances have been very good since the rocky 3 games around the United, Liverpool and QPR games. We have become a tight defensive unit and this shows in the 2-0 away victory at Manchester City, who hardly had a sniff all game and had their preferred 11 out. Very pleased with how the team is starting to gel and we are playing some great football.

1-1 draw with Tottenham (2nd in the League) marks our form as we came away unlucky to draw with their late equaliser gaining them a point.

Capital One Cup

2usj4pc.jpg

Very embarrassing defeat to Swindon in the Capital One Cup. Players were just not good enough, wasn't an awful side I had out, they just obviously didn't have their heads right for the match. I was disappointed as I wanted to challenge for this trophy in the Season.

League Table

n1eaew.jpg

We are flying at the moment! Question is can we hold onto our position come the end of the Season with lots of Football still to be played.

Other News

Gaston Romero signs a new 5-year contract despite major interest from 5 European clubs including Liverpool & PSG.

Newcastle fail in approach for me to manage them after sacking their coach.

Cauley Woodrow breaks ankle in match and keeps him out for 3 months after great start to the Season, which allows Mitroglou a chance (which he seems to have taken!!)

Scott Parker announces decision to retire at the end of the Season.

Patrick Roberts tipped to win European Golden Boy Award.

Andre Vilas Boas takes over at Arsenal after Wenger resigns.

Overview

So far life in the Premier League is wonderful, I just hope we can continue this form into the new year and beyond. We need another defensive midfielder to give competition to Romero which will be something I look into over January.

Anderson has been integral to the team so far with 1 goal and 9 assists in 15 matches and an average rating of 7.49.

Great start to the season pal, and some really good transfers,
maybe 1 or 2 quality signings in jan to help you keep up the push for europe.

I managed to lean on the reset button earlier, so had to play the Spurs game again, drew 1-1 again thankfully just this time it was Williams that scored!

Christmas - Season End

January Deals

14b1afb.jpg

This meant we had around £10m to play with in the transfer window.

2dtrfpe.jpg

Stambouli has been bought in for the defensive midfield role, allowing Gaston Romero to move forward into centre midfield where I feel he will be more effective. Adam Smith is purely cover for right-back, young and English should provide good cover.

Morata was available from Juventus and I snapped him up because he is a great talent. £6m upfront and the rest over 48 months allowed us to complete the deal.

FA Cup

2qs9f1e.jpg

Very disappointing start to the Year and out of another cup competition at the first hurdle.

Barlcays Premier League

33vf9mt.jpg

As you can see our form after Christmas suffered massively. We were playing great Football but playing better opponents that were beating us, knocking our confidence for the next few games - every time we threatened to improve we were quickly shot back down.

Up next came Tottenham, Sunderland and Everton. Three games that would shape our Season, I took to pulling the boys in for a chat and told them that despite our recent form we could improve and get ourselves out of this mess. The resulting matches...

18hrg4.jpg

With one game remaining, Fulham vs Everton, the League table looked like this in the race for 7th place, with 6th long gone:

3505a80.jpg

We took to the game with new found confidence after drawing with second place Spurs and smashing bottom of the League Sunderland. The team flew into the next game:

osc2gi.jpg

With this result we claimed 7th to end the Season in fantastic fashion!

Final Table

ogazyt.jpg

Very pleased with the team and what they achieved this year despite our free fall post Christmas.
