Season Three

With the strong finish in the League last Season and qualifying for the Euro Cup there was considerably more pressure on us than last Season. I looked forward to the challenge of bettering what can only be described as a brilliant first Season in the Premiership.

Transfers

With a healthy bank balance we were given the funds needed to strengthen key areas in the side.

Flanagan and Roberto were signed to go straight into the first team as they are better than my current crop of players. Keane, Powell and Wilson all join from Manchester United as back-up to the squad. Zucculini and Sarabia join to provide competition for the team. Podolski's experience will be useful.

January - Chupryna looks like a fantastic talent already at 18. Bertrand joins to cover for the sale of Stafylidis and Ings for competition for the Strikers. Ivanovic joins to bolster our defence with his experience.

We spent a total of £37.5m and recouped £27.5m in sales. These include Anderson (Newcastle, January, £13m), Mitroglou (Hull, July, £9m) and a few others.

As you can see we have had a fantastic Season. Roberto came into the squad and was superb. He kept last Seasons best player Anderson out of the team, so we sold him on. Great business every way you look at it. Came in on a free, left for £13m and his replacement cost £2.6m!

Winning the European Cup against Manchester United was brilliant but next year we will be in the Champions League, something I cannot wait for. The Capital One Cup was a great victory as well and shows we mean business. Fa Cup was poor but I'm not too phased by that.

All in all a fantastic Season.

I have job offers from Manchester United, Manchester City & Barcelona on the table. Have already rejected Liverpool and Arsenal.

What will happen next.

Fulham

Season 4

With the big offers elsewhere rejected I had decided to stay at Fulham for at least another Season. I have not finished what I came here to achieve yet - Champions League success. That is my aim before I leave - if I leave.

Season Expectations

Premier League: Challenge for the Title
FA Cup: Semi Final
Capital One Cup: Semi Final
Champions League: 1st Knockout Round

Transfer Budget: £37.8m

I feel the expectations are very high, but standards I wish to achieve. I believe the players can do very well if not better.

Transfers

I planned to have a quiet summer, signing just a few new faces to bolster a strong squad for Champions League football... but that obviously didn't happen. Once we received a huge offer for Patrick Roberts it changed things.

I negotiated this offer to £45m upfront and £15m over 12 months. They accepted and he was off on his way to a new club. I didn't want to sell him but the offer was insnae for a player who isn't as good as what is available, albeit my favourite at the club and a legend. He had also requested to leave to City as they could offer more money to him!

As you can see many changes with the squad. Brandt, Chiriches and Ward-Prowse come in to provide depth to the squad in key positions. All were unhappy and on the transfer list. Januzaj and Zivkovic come in to replace Roberts with the extra funds giving me two world class wingers instead of one great.

Romero, who I have chased since the first season, became available at Real Madrid (lack of first team appearances, played 30 games all from the bench!). I had to sign him up despite not really needing him.

Van Persie is ageing but he can give us a good few months before selling on for profit, hopefully, and training up Broadbent. Broadbent and Ademoglu are for the future.

Transfers out

All sales were basically I found someone better, or they were unhappy and then I found someone better - made very healthy profits on most players. Sarabia never quite lived up to expectations and Arsenal offered £7m more than I bought him for, no brainer to me.

The first few months of the Season have passed and it's time for an update. Things are going well and I am pleased by how well the side has gelled together, despite a massive summer of upheavals.

A great start to the Season so far sees us occupy first place, fending off the big boys. Some very solid results including the win against Arsenal, with us dominating the entire game. Even the 1-0 loss to United at Old Trafford was dominated by us, just very unfortunate.

Champions League

This was by no means a good start the the Champions League group stages. I was hoping to start with a win and come out of these games with at least 6 points, instead we have 2. We have it all to do in the remaining games.

Capital One Cup

Easy so far. QPR provided no threat, despite going all the way to penalties, I never feared for our exit. We won the shoot out 5-2.

European Super Cup

It was a shame to have lost this game but Bayern Munich are a massive club and we did well in this very even game decided by a wonder goal. Hopefully we will have better luck in the future.

Time will tell over the coming months as to whether this is just a lucky start or a sign of things to come.

League

Doing fantastically in the League, I cannot believe it. To beat Manchester United, 2nd place, so comfortably, is a great achievement - along with wins against Chelsea and draws vs Arsenal and City. I am very pleased with the squad at the moment.

As you can see we pulled it out of the bag to finish in 2nd place on the last day. Atletico drew and we won meaning it looks more comfortable than it actually was pre-match! Very pleased with the boys for sorting it out. Up next? Bayern Munich. Super cup revenge on the cards?

So far so good. Manchester City provided less of a threat than expected. Marching on to the next round with a trip to White Hart Lane looming.

Capital One Cup

Very disappointed with the performance here but they were better than us on the day. Annoying because I wanted to retain this trophy.

Transfers

I had to sign a new goalkeeper because Valdes is requesting to go home, for the Second Season running, and I can't hold him against his will due to his morale potentially dropping and his age, his days are numbered anyway. De Gea was unhappy at United when the deal was struck (early November) due to United being in 5th and no Champions League he gladly signed on my dotted line!

Outgoing

Robin van Persie leaves after a frustrating few months for him, finding first team football hard to come by. Good profit on the player. Chiriches also leaves for the same reason with a cool £6m profit coming through on him. Loans are all for first team exposure for development.

Nice story so far! Are those youth talents newgens or actual players? (Sorry, not near my FM computer so can't check.)

I'm in the pre-season of my third season with Fulham so far as well. Patrick Roberts also had the award for top assist, most MOTM and young player of the year in the Championship for me. I also somehow to snap up Odegaard in Christmas of the first season. In my second season, I signed Balanta, Danny Batth, Peruzzi for defence; Piatti, Yttegard Jenssen and Will Hughes for midfield; and Lucas Viatri for attack. Still have Patrick Roberts although Man Utd wanted to buy him (but only offered £25m).
