First of all thanks in advance to anyone who can help me solve this problem, Yesterday I decided I download windows 7 Ultimate and see what all the fuss is about, I refused to buy it after spending money on the joke that is Vista, so I wanted to get a good look at the new OS before I forked out anymore money on Microsoft! I performed a clean install via USB and set everything up no problems, I tried to install Football Manager 2010 using daemon tools and selecting off line installation (I don’t have the original cd) and the first few times I got a error about not being able to install to location please choose another destination (I’m not 100% sure what the error was but I was something like that) I rebooted the laptop and tried again and it installed however at the end of the installation it said “football manager has finished installing however it has reported some errors” I tried uninstalling and re-installing however I keep getting the same message, anyway, I tried to start up the game and I was hit with this error football manager 2010 10.0.0f80381 has stopped working, now I’ve got no idea how to fix this, I’ve tried re-downloading the game and installing it again but no joy, the furthest I’ve managed to get is the license screen after the racism bit then it crashes but its very hit and miss it’ll even make it that far. I wasn’t sure if I was going to buy the game or not (hence the fact I downloaded it to give it a try) but now I can’t get it to work I’m worrying it’s a problem with my laptop? Id just like to ad I managed to install the game on the same laptop with windows vista (legit copy) running however I didn’t play the game past the first few weeks of a new season (too much coursework) so I’ve got no idea if it would crash, but at least I know the game seemed to work fine!
Sony Vaio
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
RAM: 3.00 GB
System Type: 32-bit

Thanks again to anyone who take time out to help with this problem

Me too! i have the same problem! is very annoying,

i had the same problem,
before you install it move any sports interactive folders from my documents (i put them on the desktop)
then try again.
I did this and it worked, although if i remember correctly it took two attempts

oh yeah and restart laptop after uninstalling

Have you tried "Run as administrator" simple i know but worked for me on W7. if not try chaning the compatabilty to Vista or XP SP2

So, what you are trying to say is:

Your windows7 was illegally obtained.

Potentially your Football Manager is illegally obtained.

Did you also steal someone else's identity? you're not really Saber_rbp are you? ARE YOU!!!!??!?

Had a similar problem myself.
Im running windows 7 and kept getting errors when starting a new game. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game repeatedly both via steam and using the disk that came with game but had no luck.
The problem for me was that when programs are uninstalled often they are not completely removed from your computer as there are files left over in your computers registry. These can sometimes affect the installation of the program.
To solve this I used a program called revo uninstaller, which comes highly recommended (after a bit of research on the internet). This program can be found with a 30 day free trial here:
http://www.revouninstaller.com/
After doing this I selected to uninstall football manager 2010 completely, it then found several registry files that had not been deleted so I selected them all and removed them from my system. DO NOT remove any other registry files than the ones it brings up as messing with your registry can really mess up your computer! The ones revo uninstaller brings up however are completely fine to remove as they are only related to football manager 2010.
After this I checked that in C\ProgramFiles (wherever you installed football manager to) that the folder for sports interactive had been deleted. I did the same thing in my documents, if they are still there I would remove them.
Following these steps should completely remove football manager 2010 from your system, try reinstalling it again and see if that works :D. If its a problem with your installation I would think this should work.
Post back and let us know if it works :D!

Just realised that this topic is quite old.
Oh well hopefully this well be helpful to someone!

I refuse to help anyone that has not paid for their copy of FM10. And, you will be banned for talking about pirate software.

If you can afford a Vaio you can afford to buy a genuine copy of FM10 so take it easy on the illegal downloads
