I was wondering if anyone else has trouble getting the best from their 'star' players?

I am currently Arsenal and Fabregas has never had a rating above 7. I have tried him in 3 different roles, Central Mid, Advanced Playmaker and attacking midfielder.

He played half a season in each role but never managed to produce his 'real life' magic.

I am actually considering selling, considering i got Rakitic on a free and he is averaging 7.8 at the moment...

thoughts guys?

yeh sometimes these star players need a bit of a kick to get them going...if a chat dont work, then its probz down to ur tactics. but usually a warning about their performance should do the trick!

Ok, I will second Fabregas' never performing well. I think SI has made it almost impossible for us to get the best out of a central midfield playmaker like Fabregas or Xavi. The only reason I can think of, as to why Fabregas doesn't do too well in my Arsenal save, is because there are too many creative players e.g. Nasri, van Persie, Wilshere, Arshavin etc. So, the spotlight is somewhat taken off him.

I always try to play Arsenal like a I would Liverpool (albeit they're a more talented version in attack than my club). What I do for Liverpool is stick all attacking players and midfielders on support duty except for Gerrard and Torres - this gives them the ball more and makes them the key players in the team, try the same for Fabregas and VP.

And yeah the talk thing is a good idea too. If all that fails, try fiddling with the sliders to what you think would suit his game best (they're more precise than just giving him a role)
