View attachment 304399Profit making challenge:
Hi all, now this is a slightly different story that I’ll be attempting.
My aim is not to see what trophies I can win, but how easily I can win them!
I’ve thought for a while now (as is guess most people have) that the money in football is ridiculous!
We now see Premier League footballers on over £100k per week ! Radamel Falcao is reportedly earning £268k a week ! That’s £38,356 a day and over £1500 ever hour! I could go o but I wont bore people anymore.
We also see obscene amount of transfer fee’s being spent over the last few years. I’ve picked out some of the bigger transfers from this summer.
Robert Snodgrass £8million Norwich to Hull.
Abel Hernandez £12million Palermo to Hull.
Adam Lallana £25million Southampton to Liverpool.
Eliaquim Mangala £32million Porto to Man City.
Luke Shaw £34million Southampton to Man Utd.
Shane Long £15million Hull to Southampton.
Angel Di Maria £75million Real Madrid to Man Utd.
Now I’m not saying that any of these are bad players, or even bad transfers. In fact I believe that Adam Lallana is one of the best English players about at the moment, and I love that he’s come up from the lower divisions. Angel Di Maria is another a great player, when he first came over he was the best player in the league for the first month or two. Luke Shaw is also an unbelievable prospect, but you can’t deny that £34million is a lot of money for a teenager with little over a years experience. £32 million for Mangala is the one that stands out for me, again he may prove me wrong but at the time of writing this he certainly doesn’t look to be worth that much. James McArthur and Robert Snodgrass have come from the Championship but have still demanded a huge transfer fee.
Now I’m certainly not blaming the players for these fees, I’m not even blaming the individual clubs, it’s the market in which they’re operating that’s the problem.
All of these players may turn out to be great (and make me look stupid) but I think you can still win trophies and league titles without spending silly money!
So,
The aim of story/challenge is to win the Premier League (within 3 seasons) and the Champions League (within 5).
Sounds simply right?
Well, I’ll have a few restrictions to make it slightly harder:
· To make a profit on transfers EVERY season.
· Wage cap of £50k per week for ANY player (with 3 exceptions on less than £100k).
· To not pay excessive agent fees or signing on fees.
· To have an emphasis on young players who have come through the youth squads.
· To have an emphasis on English players and to supply the national team with more players than anyone else by the end of the save
· Avoid signing any wonderkids that are unrealistic signings.
1. I really feel that these restrictions will benefit the save by making it much harder to achieve success. First of all, I have to make a profit on all transfers, basically regardless of my transfer budget given, I can only spend what I bring in.
2. My second restriction will probably be the hardest, a salary cap of £50,000 per week. I’ve given myself 3 exceptions to this so it works more like the MLS. However even my 3 exceptions must be on less than £100k per week. This basically makes it impossible to buy the best of the best.
3. My third restriction is to do with players signing on fees and agents fee, this just ensures I cant cheat by offering low wages and a huge signing on fee.
4. I also need to have an emphasis on young players, this should also help by paying cheaper transfer fees.
5. I also want to supply the national team with more players than any other team.
6. My last restriction is that I cannot just sign players which are on any kind of Wonderkid list we see all the time on forums. For me that takes all the fun out of a save anyway.
Edit: As mentioned in my last post, I've put the below table here so people can see which competitions have been won during the save . . . [TABLE="width: 750"]
