Hello
Just started playing FM again, need something to play while im away on my laptop

Started working a bit on my 4-2-3-1 deep.

Its a nice tactic with modern wingbacks, lone striker, wide attacking mids

Im going on vacation, so feel free to give input and try a few things with it

Went well with Arsenal but they are a top team
Playing atm with Malmö FF but they are a very big fish in a small sea...

Notes:

+ Very solid defence
+ Sometimes good possession, altho I struggle to find consistent possession on FM18
+ Seemed to work fine away

- U can go a whole half without any key moment for either opposistion
- Could and should create more chances
- Midfield doesnt get anything done sometimes
- lots of longshots

Overall its like a train, slow steady u need patient


It needs work!
feel free to test/change/tweek/give input

I will continute working on it as well

yup, with arsenal

doing really well but then again MFF is a top team in their league

but I took down some big dogs in Champions league
 
FM is so bugged
My LW not even told to press.. hmmm

players instruction are not what they should
have to redo it on a clean slate, fm is just terrible, when u import old tactics, u cant tell a player to press

the max instruction is only "sometimes" on press. ridicolous

Still keeping it as a base, but trying raumdeuters now and som other stuff

If u wanna tweak it, u have to remake it from the beginning, import attacking corners =(
cause u cant remake pressing duties on imported tatics, the maximum pressure u can apply is "sometimes"

Bug since forever in FM...

Currently tweaking
Improved the attack with some switch ups, but its so inconsistent
6 shots away vs southampton on current tweak (not tactic posted)
after 4 crushing wins xD
 
tried it with on my save and had some excellent results. all in all it pretty decent tactic an you surely can get some good results

which team are u managing?

I might try to make it more central since thats the thing on this fm apparently
maybe a 3-5-2 ish
 
i used it for about 4 months with cardif and overachieved, then moved o liverpool but used it in couple of matches but was inconsistent so i switched to other tactic
 
intresting..
I found it hard to overachieve with my MFF side. It smashed the league but I couldnt beat Feyenoord (better squad)

Then got told its hard to get IFs and such to overachieve.
PPl have had much more sucess this year with more narrow tactics.

Im gonna try the 4-2-2-1-1 next. / 4-4-1-1 with 2 DMS

On vacation atm
Dont have acess to any tactic testing league or anything. Added set pieces from TFF (attacking corners)

This one played nicley in my save, and seemed to be the best attacking threat I created so far without sacrificing my good defence

Tell your Shadowstrikers to mark opponents fullback, or wingbacks in instructions. If they play 3-5-2 mark the sole wide men
Set on Fullback as default, cause thats the usual opponent formation in my league

I wanted my SSs to press but it seemed to work good if they didnt
maybe add press on them

Fulbacks, support, could be altered, also with specific crossing instructions maybe far post

Worked amazing for my MFF side (Malmö FF SWE League)
Knocking out Feyenoord as underdog (CL PLAYOFF), outshooting them away

Destroyed my league more than ever hitting 30 shots/game 35-45 % on target

Then got completley destroyed by Real Madrid
Obv my squad is nowhere near real madrid ofc, its a lot worse than for example Feyenoord
But it was a bit tilting that I got completley destroyed in shots

10-25, 0-2 final result
managed to get some CCCs tho


EDIT:
I beat Real Madrid! Altho its a replay (cheating hehe)
I changed the teamtalk, player reactive negative to "nothing to lose" somehow and played like utter ****

A replay with a positive reaction gave a 2-1 victory

6-6 shots on target
49-51 possession
