Promoted, now what?

My team have gone from Scottish 3rd to 2nd and I'm now losing every match. My players' ability ratings are all 3* or greater and I've got 3*+ on all of my training assignments - how can I improve them further to start winning some games? I've also noticed some players come in to my team at say 4* and then drop to 3* - how do I keep them at the ability they came in with and better yet improve them to their stated potential?

How many new players have you got ?

What tactics are you using ? Do you play more defensive when playing away/better teams ?

What are your teamtalks like ?

What are your training facilities ? If their ****, you will have problems keeping ability stats up.

I keep intakes to a low, only when a 4*+ player comes along.

I've not adopted any tactics other than the attacking/defensive/control toggles.

I let the assistant take the team talks but theyre always very good/superb outcomes.

Training facilities are **** but the board won't do anything due to finances - not sure what I can do about that.
