We were joint top at the start of the year but ended February with a 12 point lead! Out of the League Cup but claimed more silverware with the Club World Championship. Leighton Baines was signed towards the end of the window for £13m to further strengthen the squad.

We still hold a massive lead in the Prem but long term injuries to Baines, Young and more importantly Rooney has seen us slip a wee bit and with the mighty Barcelona awaiting in the CL quarter finals we will do well to remain champions of Europe.

End of Season 2013/14

Barcelona proved too strong for our injury hit squad but alarmingly our form fell apart towards the end of the season and we suffered the humiliation of an FA Cup semi final defeat to Championship side Hull.

Nowhere near as successful this season but still walked the league and claimed the Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup and World Club Cup.

Thought we'd struggle in Europe to be honest but 3-0 win over Bayern in the final. Nice.

Hopefully given good transfer funds to really strengthen the squad in the summer
