Question about January update

2011 is the first one that I bought before the January update. So I just want know what happens if you update your version right in the middle of a game. Lets say I bought Dzeko. What would happen now that he plays for Man City? Will the game just transfer him from my team to Man City or what?
 
You have to download the new database patch to play a save game on it. Your current save will not be changed by the update in any way.
 
any transfer updates of players/managers will only happen when you start a new game. Any fixes the patch has will affect your saved game. You have to start a new game to see the updated transfers

Pretty much sums it up.

It would be quite annoying if you bought Dzeko for lets say Chelsea but then you patch up and suddenly he's at Manchester City..
