My Champions League Challenge 2015

Back in 2013 myself and my good friend klippybo got involved in making the Champions league challenge a save we had great fun with together, against each other and in a pass the parcel format.

Flash forward to this years game and i've not really fallen in love with a save and with thoughts already turning to FM16 i've decided to try my hand at this but will be doing the save with less updates than usual focusing on my hunt for Champions League success than trivial league games with relegation candidates or playing 3rd division teams in the cups

I'll start off with who i consider the easiest team to kick off with. Barcelona. Well balanced team, Messi leading up front should win it 1st time out. Anything less is a huge failure.

Note how non of these players have come from a future team as i dont want to pull apart future teams before i get there.

Barcelona score at least 4 goals in every game to waltz to top spot.


Sadly we fell short on some potential bonus points as the draw in Olympiakos denies me the 20 bonus points to a 100% record in season 1 and 10 bonus points in any season. We also fell 3 goals short of getting a record breaking champions league win and we only got 9 goals against Olympiakos when we needed 11.

We are top but it took till November to get ahead of Ateltico who were perfect till we thrashed them 5-0. We beat our other rivals Real Madrid 3-0 at the Nou Camp. Our only defeat was to 9th place Sevilla who are mental to beat at home!

Were 14 points clear at the top as the two Madrid sides continue to struggle. Atletico's fall has been incredible and led to Diego Simeone getting sacked less than 9 months after winning there 1st league title in 20 years. We've also made it into the Spanish Cup final with our 2nd team

What a awful draw. This could have been the final but both results were crazy!

Not quite sure how we turned it around after a nightmare last 15 minutes in Germany. To be fair the shoe was on the other foot at the Nou Camp where we back to being only 1 goal behind within 10 minutes.


Lots of shocks elsewhere as were the last Spanish team in the competition as both Madrid sides went out. Only 1/3 German teams left as Dortmund were knocked out by Chelsea

We won the League with a 3-0 win over Celta Vigo. Since the Bayern game we've won 5 and drawn 1 in the league. Record points & goals should follow.

1st leg was a classic but the 2nd leg was a joke. Suarez must have got very excited playing a English team again with 5 of the goals

Pre Season


Barcelona sold Rafinha, Munir, Macherano & Pedro. I forgot we had a transfer embargo. Oops. And even worse no jobs came up once i loaded the English, Italian and German leagues
We Play Real Madrid 3 times in August winning both Super Cup games and in the League scoring 12 goals in the process. My favorite being Luis Suarez's 92nd minute winner in the League at the Bernabau

This year it was the Germans Leverkusen who ruined our bonus points haul with a win in Germany, We gained a small taste of revenge with a 6-1 win at the Nou Camp to lead us to top spot

A repeat of last years Final but both these games were more fitting of a final. In the 1st leg i thought we could have held a bigger advantage but the 2nd leg we did what was needed to reach another final at the San Siro where we'll play Chelsea which was a job i had my eye on till recently

What a final! Chelsea had the lead early on but we fought back with Messi & Suarez giving us a deserved lead. Oscar brought it level before i though Messi had won it but Loic Remy brought the game to extra time. In overtime i thought our knackered team was there for the taking but goals from home grown stars Iniesta & Pique secured back to back titles for Barcelona. Now GET ME ANOTHER JOB FM!

We also won retained our League title scoring 147 goals in the league. While Madrid took a comfortable 2nd. Malaga were the shock of the season with there relegation.

Nothing after the Euro's so i saved the game resigned and hoped Barcelona would hire a coach from a former Champion and thankfully they did!

Probably the team i would least like to do it with!


They have been great recently, the best team outside of Barcelona & Juventus in domestic football with 85 & 84 points and a League title over the first two seasons.



Main transfers
Great work here as well with Feghouli, Papastathopoulos, Manolas, Aboubaker & 4 former Barcelona players, Ter Stegen, Mascherano, Pedro & Turan all signed up before this job was ever an option. hey have not lost any key players with sales of Ben Arfa, Borini, Coates, Flanagan & Joe Allen being squad players when sold.

Pre Season


Adding to the additions of the last two summers i buy a top right back Matteo Darmian and back up midfielders Alan Dzagoev and Steven Gerrard. Yep you read that right. He might finally get a Premier League medal!
Cleared out the depth of the squad by moving on 27 players bringing in £70m which i will be putting on a left back in January i hope after a deal fell through on deadline day!
