Well, I've had some ups and downs with this tactic in my USA save. 3-3 draw against Brazil, 2-1 win against Denmark, 0-5 loss against Italy, a 4-2 win against Uruguay and a humiliating 1-6 loss against Mexico in the Gold Cup final. It's been great against the smaller teams of the CONCACAF.

Disappointed I won't get to play in the Confederations cup though.

sorry to hear that mate, International match prep is **** to be honest, it will need a bit of time for International teams, I only got my Belgium squad playing well with it after several months...

Oh, I've been playing it for over a calendar year, all the way through the first World Cup qualifying round, a Gold Cup and part way through the second round of WC qualifiers.

USA players are pretty average though, and the defenders being pretty poor.

What I'm most disappointed in is the lack of player progress. I haven't seen really any advances in my younger players despite them getting pretty regular playing time.

who are you managing?

you will not see any player development from International management mate :) the players will/should develop at their clubs with training and playing time but there is nothing that you can do to improve it besides giving them the playing time (which to be honest, does nothing in FM as International management, well barely anything)

after players first cap or good game in International you think that their stats would increase (you can see this as the club manager) but it does not really at all...

I was doing pretty well with this tactic, i used it when i had a seven game losing streak, won about 7 out of 10 matches with it getting me joint top on points, then .. 'Game could not be loaded' , no Scottish Hero achievement for me!

Seems a good tactic so i'll use it on my next save and see how it goes.

Nobody else, strictly started a USA save. I have been tempted to take a management position and buy the American players I want to improve myself.

Decided to try this with my Swindon Town save. Using a different tactic I managed to gain promotion to nPower League 1 amassing 112 points but the tactic looked very shaky at the start of the new season, despite a 4-3 win over Chelsea in pre season I was destroyed by Leeds 4-1 and Sunderland 5-1 in the League Cup. I've only played a few games so far and had some very good away wins and a close 2-1 home win but it should have been more. I did notice that it is tiring my players so will drop the closing down to own half only. I'll post again later in the season when I have more to feedback.

Got my first win against a PL team. I was so happy when Crespo scored the 4th goal, I knew it sealed the deal. Next up is Wolves, I was drawn against Wolves or Arsenal and they managed to tie at the Emirates then bring it back home and win.

Can you Raikan007 do player filters for this tactic! This is excellent! works gr8 on Man Utd!! But would easier to find players if you would to nice filters

@ Raikan007

Could you please do a 4-2-3-1 version of this tactic

Thanks as i might do a story with Parma

I'll be honest, I flirted around with the original Fusstidious 4-4-2 tactic after my humiliating Gold Cup final defeat to Mexico. After another humiliation in the final round of WCQ I finished 3rd behind Mexico and Jamaica (seriously, the Reggae Boyz?!) I switched back to using your version during my warm-up friendlies before the World Cup in Brazil.

My World Cup group consisted of Russia (tough), Argentina (tougher) and Australia (should be simple). I lost my opener to Russia 0-1 but proved an amazing 3-0 upset over Argentina and then held it together for a 1-0 win over Australia to take 2nd in the group. Then I proved another upset by winning on penalties after a 2-2 draw against England in the Group of 16 which then matched me up against Spain where the magic wore off and I lost 0-2. Afterwards I was offered a job at Nurnberg, where fortunately my RB Timothy Chandler plies his trade.

I've started a new save for the Yanks in an effort to land a club job to develop my yanks, but it doesn't look like anyone wants to hire a manager whose resume only includes a year's worth of managing the USA national team through a year's worth of friendlies. (In reality, no American has coached in Europe, correct me if I'm wrong). So I'm thinking about adding a human manager and setting him up with a mid-table EPL team. But which team? Also, is that kind of cheating?

Edit: Oh, and since I don't want this to be a total thread hijack the tactic is working nicely in the new save as well. Haven't played too many big teams yet, but now that the tactic is fluid it seems to be doing well. Just destroyed Venezuela in a friendly 5-0. Granted it's the whipping by of CONMEBOL, but still ...

OMG! This tactic is really madness, name is born for this amazing tactic^^).Not only goal scoring, but really impressive style

Is there any way to make the MCR more important? Eriksen is playing there on my ajax side and he's being skipped over a lot and doesn't quite get as many touches as i would like. Also when he has the ball he doesn't seem to do that much with it most of the time.

BTW The hold up ball box is ticked for the mcr, why is that?

Great tactic, so surprised it aint more popular, as I reckon a lot of people like myself have been searching for a new tactic to start a long term summer save game up until the next FM is out.

The versatility and consistency is so blatantly obvious in this tactic you have to be a real noob not to see it. For me it is by no means a "mainstream cheat" tactic(by that I mean one of them very popular plug and play tactics that a lot of casual players use for their pointless 1-2 season save games) there has to be a real element of quality from you as a manager to make it work, but by god I believe it will reward you handsomely in the long term. Good squad management and proper use of team talks and opposition instructions make this tactic rock solid.

But with that said I must say I have only used it for just under 1 and a half seasons so far on my soon to be long term Liverpool save. In the first season I only signed Andile Jali(extra solid money making MC that is a better option than Charlie Adam) and Willian(desperate need of quality out wide). I only sold Suso and Fabio Aurelio(to make way for Jack Robinson) along with the original transfer budget to fund them 2 signings. I won the FA Cup and Premiership in that first season which is great considering the poor quality of the Liverpool squad.

Now that I am in my second season I have begun to see the true colors or the tactic, despite making wholesale changes to the squad, I have been very strong home and away except for a few 1 goal defeats against poor opposition in away games. I have uploaded a screenshot of my results in season 2 to show this(also uploaded the league table from season 1 too)

3 out of the 4 losses shown so far this season have been to first half scrappy goals and for the rest of the match I have been unable to break them down. Now im thinking that maybe if in the future I am 0-1 down at HT to lesser opponents I should make the tweak of unticking hold up ball on the wingers to push for a second half onslaught comeback.

Either way this is a fantastic tactic that is seemingly very under-rated, and my only question would be should I make that minor tweak in them certain situations where I feel things just aint going my way. I am just looking for a second opinion really on them minor away losses to put my worries to bed. KUTGW.

so that he holds it up and waits for support :) you can untick it if you like, I would play Eriksen AML mate, he was devastating there for my Sampdoria team :)

awesome bud, great results there :) the one thing I find that after about 4 years of using the same tactic (even though I change it often) it becomes dull and does not offer the same results/football anymore..

I suggest making a few changes to it at the end of each year, maybe taking the CMR into AMC etc.

Would you leave the DM in the DM spot or move it up into a CM slot as a ball-winner?

Good tactic as Usual, Want to try this with Barcelona and they have lots of Attacking midfielders.. can you suggest some tweaks/changes to make it work with Barcelona?
Cheers!

you can do that of course :) I did that hundreds of times, even moved the MCR to AMC and made him a little more attacking..
