September was a good month for me
The first game for me in September was against Leixoes
Porto 4 - 1 Leixoes
Bruno Alves (3), Mariano Pavone (14),(65),(75) - Léo Aro (77)
The Champions League Groups were announced. I was in a group with, holders, Barcelona, Stuttgart and Debrecen.
My first group game was against Barcelona at home, Truly a tough game.
Porto 1 - 0 Barcelona
Raúl Meireles (17)
I was delighted with my teams performance, to hold out the champions league holders Barcelona. Raul Meireles' strike proved to be the only goal of the game, With Xavi injured on (79).
After the win against Barcelona, I was looking for another win at Estádio Axa in Braga.
Porto 2 - 2 Braga
Mariano Pavone (49), Bruno Alves (62) - Moisés (5), César Prates (45+1)
I was still happy despite dropping 2 points because of the comeback we showed. I believe that the turn in the game was when I took off Cristian Rodriguez for on loan man Diego Valeri from Lanus and Hulk off for Kléber at half time.
A very big game was next. I was up against rivals Sporting CP.
Porto 1 - 1 Sporting CP
Mariano Pavone (72) - Pedro Mendes (26)
Mariano Pavone scored his 6th goal of the season. Like I said in August
he will score a lot more.
The last game in September was another Champions League game in Germany against Stuttgart.
Porto 0 - 0 Stuttgart
An outstanding performance from both keepers, Helton and Jens Lehmann.
Manager of the month went to Jorge Jesus of Benfica. Sadly, I was not in the top three managers for September.
Player of the Month went to third place in August, Bruno Alves. In 2nd place was Argentinian midfielder Angel Di Maria, Benfica. And in last place my top scorer Mariano Pavone.
Still not lost this season(H)
Just started October.

The first game in October for my Porto was against the current Liga Vitalis holders, Olhanense.
Porto 4 – 1 Olhanense
Mariano Pavone (5), Freddy Guarin (25), Fernando Belluschi (pen 36), Cristian Rodriguez (61) – Guga (39)
I was very happy with the result. Mariano Pavone is definitely a great signing for me.
Next game was against Quarteirense in the 3rd round of the Portuguese Cup.
Porto 9 – 0 Quarteirense
Mariano Pavone (5), Cristian Rodriguez (7), Raul Meireles (13), (70), Hulk (19), Bruno Alves (25), (40), Falcao (83), Hugo Tavares (86)
During the post match press conference, James Siddle said “ Today's performance was outstanding, I was delighted with everyone’s performance.
The 4th round of the Portuguese Cup was drawn today at 1o’clock. Current holders of the trophy, Porto, have been drawn with Academico de Viseu Futebol Clube.
Hungarian giants Debrecen travelled to Estadio do Dragao today ahead of the Champions League clash against Porto. This is Porto’s third group match for new manager James Siddle. Porto are currently in 2nd place in Group G behind Stuttgart but ahead of holders, Barcelona and Debrecen.
Porto 3 – 0 Debrecen
Mariano Pavone (7), (62), Raul Meireles (88)
During the Debrecen game, Mariano Pavone scored his 10th goal of the season.
Porto are still unbeaten in 12 games this season and manager James Siddle hopes to keep this streak going with a win against Academica.
Porto 2 – 0 Academica
Bruno Alves (18), (63)
Bruno Alves’ two goals were the deciding goals in the match, With those two goals against Academica, Bruno Alves has now got 8 goals this season.
The Manager of the Month award for October went to myself, which I was very pleased about.
Bruno Alves again in the Player of the Month list, he was in 3rd place.
Very pleased with the teams performance in October.
Will keep updating.(H)
