Rangers part ways with manager Ally McCoist!

The rangers board and Ally McCoist have came to a mutual agreement that he will part ways with the club. Both agreed Rangers needed to move forward with a new style of football and in order to get them back to being one of Europe's most respected squads.

McCoist had already brought in several new players for the campaign ahead including former duo Kenny Miller and Kris Boyd, the new manager can be sure he'll have a strong team to manage.

The new man for the job?
The new manager of Rangers will be the inexperienced young scot, Craig Smith. Smith is a life long Rangers fan who will extremely keen to see his beloved club back at the top of Scottish football.

"This club simply cannot accept failure, if the Championship is not one resignation is the only way to go."

"For me the main area that really needed strengthening was the central defence area, but that has been resolved with the signatures of Darren Mcgregor (St Mirren) and Marius Zaliukas (Leeds United)."

"Miller and Boyd have returned to Rangers and all defenders of the Championship should be worried as goals won't be short."

These are just some quotes the new manager has said as he has shown his strong personality to succeed, which will be popular amongst the Rangers fans.

Trouble at Rangers!

New Rangers boss Craig Smith has found life tough already in his new role, not even a week into management and a fall out with Lewis MacLeod over a potential move to Aberdeen has made his job stressful. Lewis MacLeod is keen to leave Rangers after hearing Aberdeen are interested in him, but Smith isn't wanting to lose his young star! Lewis MacLeod has not been happy to hear he won't be sold and the squad has been split with a few players unhappy with the treatment of MacLeod. Hopefully the new boss can fix these problems early on before it effects his side.

Albion Rovers 1 - 2 Rangers

It was a winning start for the new Rangers boss as his side met Albion Rovers away in the Challenge Cup first round. It wasn't pretty but Smith gets the win and that'll do. It was no easy game for Rangers as they found out when Zaliukas conceded a penalty but he was bailed out by keeper Bell. Rangers took the lead through a Turbull own goal in first half stoppage time. Nicky Clark came off the bench to double Rangers lead and surely secure a next round spot. Kris Boyd and Nicky Clark both had goals disallowed for offside as there was no scoring return for Boyd. Albion Rovers did pull one back late on when Bell's poor kick out conceded possession allowing Mark McGuigan to score but Rangers held on to secure the win.

"We were poor and there is much work ahead to improve, we conceded far too many chances against a weaker side. The main thing is we won and now need to focus on the next match ahead.
