Real Madrid clear the way for Jose Mourinho

Pellegrini, 56, failed to end Barcelona's reign as Spanish champions

Real Madrid have sacked coach Manuel Pellegrini, with the Spanish giants set to turn to Inter Milan's Jose Mourinho as his replacement at the Bernabeu.
Mourinho is expected to head to Real after winning the Champions League in Madrid with Inter on Saturday.

"I'm ready to admit to some mistakes but Mourinho's hiring is an opportunity that Madrid could not miss," said Real president Florentino Perez.
Inter are resigned to losing the 47-year-old former Chelsea boss to Madrid.
However, Inter president Massimo Moratti has suggested Mourinho's departure could be a protracted affair, with the Italian club demanding up to £13.5m in compensation given the Portuguese coach's contract at the San Siro runs until 2012.

"What is still left to resolve is the interpretation, between Mourinho and the club, of his contract," said Perez.
Mourinho has often said he wants to manage in Spain and has cited the fact that no manager has ever won championships in England, Italy and Spain.
Pellegrini, 56, has been under pressure after failing to win a trophy this year.
Real were pipped to the Primera Liga title by Barcelona and were knocked out of both the Champions' League and the Spanish Cup.

this is what i have heard. the difference is the press in madrid will love mourinho and florentina perez will have a big hand in that main reason beacuse he is perez's manager pellegrini wasent. and because the press will love jose and his antics they will write good things and in spain it has a big effect on fans what the media write, so no matter what football jose decides to play the fans, presidant and media will take to him. If that makes any sence people lol.

mourinho likes to put his stamp on his team so there could be some big changes at madrid this summer. from inters favoured starting 11 this season ( the oone that did the damage in the 2nd half of the season) 6 of them were jose's signings. not to mention the friction between himself and ronaldo

i just wonder if real madrid fully understand this, and how he is not to be trifled with

i agree mate, it will either turn out to be something world breaking or it could be a massive **** up for all partys.
if real madrid use any sense it will be the former, but if they continue to act like they have done for the last 10 years, this will end badly on all sides

Apparently it's just a matter of letting Mourinho walk now, next season will be a good year in Spain. Mourinho will get in, sell the likes of Marcelo, Drenthe, VDV and buy in some of his own, probably someone like Essien.
