Currently I have Xabi Alonso and Lassana Diarra rotating in this role.

Alonso is getting older (approaching 30) and as a general rule I don't keep players past 30.

Budget shouldn't be a problem since I'm looking to sell a few players and will be doing this transfer at the start of the next season - it's only December 2011 now.

De Rossi is getting too old, and Sissoko is at our rivals Atletico, who would sell only for a very unreasonable amount. Something I wouldn't want to do.

Well yeah, but get him until hes 30. Then Mats Rits should be like 20-21 I think. Then sign Mats Rits.

Besides DM players can last till there 32 at least.
