Everyone's saying 'Ozils career is over', but seriously, how do you know? Mourinho isn't one to buy players for a laugh, I think he'll start Ozil a lot this season and he'll be a quality player for them.

This is far from the end of Ozil's career, more of another big step in a bright future for him.

Well if its a Mourinho enforced buy meaning that he is going to be used, then he will go on and become a great player, if this was a typical Spanish president buy trying to please the demanding Real Madrid fans.. he may find himself on the bench a **** of a lot.

Doubt it, you don't assign Mourinho to go and do something like that. He hired Mourinho because he can be trusted. With Kaka out for a few months Ozil will definately get game time.

I'm not saying Ozil's career is over, even though I have a good feeling it is in the short term. I'm just saying his development has been significantly hindered. This transfer has Perez's fat fingers written all over it. I highly doubt Mourinho wanted him as badly as the media is saying he did. Perez probably pushed the transfer forward so he can sell shirts because everyone wants a World Cup star's shirt. ****, it's obvious no other player besides Casillas, Alonso and Ramos were anything close to decent this world cup.

Kaka - sent off in group stage
Ronaldo - out of form
Benzema - not even on the plane
Higuain - hat trick but then smothered by Deutchland
Diarra - not even on the plane
Di Maria - very quiet; still lacks footballing brain
van der Vaart - quiet backup to Robben

Khedira to Madrid was a good buy since Mourinho parks the bus 95% of the time and he would be starting with Alonso at the back just fine. Both complement each other and Diarra can provide support if needed. M. Diarra is probably certainly on his way out back to Ligue 1 anyways.

But another attacking midfielder is completely ridiculous. Ozil will start for about a month here and there against dismal La Liga teams then immediately hit the bench to make way for Kaka coming back. There's NO way Perez will let £56 million Kaka sit on the bench (even though Mourinho would probably not care).

Real Madrid is a graveyard for young talent. It's completely wasted. Madrid have become nothing more than a moronic club masked by a rich history. People argue "everyone wants to play for Madrid," but my question is, what has Madrid won in the last 10 years? 3 La Liga titles, no Copa Del Rey, and they haven't won the CL since 2002. I'm not anywhere close to a Barca fan either yet it's clear to me they hold all the keys to success in Spain.

Madrid's nothing but a buying club and, as much as I think the type of money they throw around is absurd, if that's their policy, they need to stick with buying world class players who are already developed and at the peak of their footballing careers. Not promising youth who will sit behind marquee signings. Let the real clubs sign those players and work with them week in and week out and develop them so maybe, 6-7 years later, you can choose to overpay tens of millions on them.

I will enjoy another player sale from Madrid in the coming days and it will also be fun to watch those players have more success the following year than if they had stayed in Spain. If I had to put money on it - Canales out on loan, Gago sold for peanuts, van der Vaart sold and M. Diarra out.

I am. Can't stop seeing Real as a talent-cemetery. Hope I'm wrong tho, great player

There's an awful lot of truth in that belz. Sticker album mentality at Real Madrid when they've got money. They'll go bust again soon though so we'll be spared it for another few seasons until they persuade the local government and banks to bail them out again.

Another player in my mind that has ruined my opinion of him caused by signing for Real ''Money Money Money'' Madrid. Just like everyone who signs for man city too.

I would have loved to see him sign for Man Utd. He would win alot more at United + get more games + play in the best league in the world. Fergie should have snapped him up straight after the world cup ... maybe flu out to see him like Hodgson did to make Torres stay. Oezil would have felt wanted rather than just sign for the most obvious club.

Looks like he'll flop to me, the new van der vaart ... everyone wanted him till Real Madrid ruined him.

Grrrrr Money in football ****** me off!

****,I hope he does not ruin his immense talent at Real Madrid, his golden era of his career would have started if he had gone to Chelsea;)

Surprised me. Last I heard he was off to Barca.

Surprised me. Last I heard he was off to Barca.

4 teams were after him namely Barcelona,Real Madrid,Man Utd and Chelsea with the English Giants being favourites to sign him namely Man Utd and Chelsea

I still think and hope Barca win the league, Their cantera is amazing and when they do make signings their usually good ones, Bit of a bad season last though with that Ukrainan defender cant spell his name and jury still out on Ibra, but im sure the fact they have a great team spirit and with Xavi-Messi-Villa they will be unstoppable

But they will have serious competition in Real now, with Mourinho+Kaka+Cristiano Ronaldo+Higuan and now Ozil

With Mourinho in charge, Ozil really will get a chance, even if it does mean sitting on the bench for part of the season. Have him train under someone like Kaka, rotate him around in different positions to vary his talents, and he's definitely on to be a Madrid legend in time.

right now.. Ozil is better than Kaka?
do you think?
No i disagree, Whenever Ozil was without Thomas Mueller supporting him he didnt look the same, Kaka had one bad season, but he was good at the WC

I was looking forward to seeing him play in the premiership, But Not now :(...bad move i think

Kaka, Canales, Van der Vaart, Özil,... Too much people for the same position.

And they still don't have a decent left back, much more necessary in my opinion.
