Hey In my current save I am taking Real Sociedad up the La Liga standings.
Going very well in my opinion, could someone explain how to link in some photos and ill do a story about it.
Cheers

An Unknown manager Sam Barlow has been hired as the manager of Real Sociedad. The La Liga team has taken a gamble on a rookie manager but is hopeful of success.

The Chairman has given him a fairly small transfer budget of 450k and an average wage budget. So their may be some departures before additions arrive.
This has been set on the knowledge that Sam is aiming for a mid-table finish. However, secretly he harbours the idea or finishing in the Europa League positions.

Several players jump out as key plays for Sam.

Here is a screenshot of transfers in and out in the first transfer window. I do not agree with making wholesale changes before the season begins when you have recently taken a new job. I intend to make a few additions to help the players mentioned above.

Moving the wage budget across and making some deals over 24 months allowed for some extra spending, but Piatti and Modise were transfer listed at other clubs so were brought in to increase squad depth. Only Vrsjalko is going to be first-team.

Tactics that I am going to employ will be based on JP's Germany tactic.

Pre-season results were fairly promising with 1 draw and 6 wins. Plenty of goals were scored and the striking options were rotated in order to see which striker out of Llorente, Vela, Ifran were the most effective. Unfortunately Griezzman was away on international duty for the whole of pre-season and Sanogo was only signed late on.

Early Season Form

Okay so I will say upfront that the season is going very well so far (Currently on last day of October).

However, first game of the season didn't go so well.
Real Sporting 1 - 1 Real Sociedad (Vela) - Par result
Real Sociedad 0 - 4 Barcelona - Disappointing
Sevilla 1 - 0 Read Sociedad - Dissapointing.

Okay so far, pretty disappointing results. However, team did play well in regards to moving the ball and possession and the games have been quite tough.
Then the results turned I will not list the goalscorers for each game but will update at the end.

Real Sociedad 4 - 0 Granada - Bossed it, but Granada are a poor team.
Mallorca 0 - 3 Real Sociedad - Was hoping for a win but chuffed with this.
Real Sociedad 4 - 0 Athletic Bilbao - OOOOOOSH
Zaragoza 0 - 3 Real Sociedad - Enjoyed this.
Real Sociedad 3 - 0 Getafe -Kinda used to this by now.
Real Betis 0 - 1 Real Sociedad (Cup) - Vela went off injured and no striekr on bench which explains lack of goals.

Results have picked up nicely.
Best Player So Far
Carlos Vela - 7 Goals in 7 Starts.

Next up is a home game against unbeaten Madrid. gulp.

okay well another update coming shortly . . . interesting news regarding vela.

Next Month....
At the end of last update I mentioned the next game against Real Madrid . . .
Real Sociedad 1 - 2 Real Madrid - Predictable really, we had a few chances but unable to take any until late on.
Levante 0 - 1 Real Sociedad - Another away victory and a clean sheet.
Rayo Vallecano 2 - 3 Real Sociedad - Always struggling until tamudo sent off, Vela scored 90th min winner.
Real Sociedad 1 - 0 Real Betis (Cup) - Same score as away fixture and were through 2-0.
Real Sociedad 3 - 1 Espanyol - Another good win at home, scoring freely.
Real Betis 1 - 1 Real Sociedad - Dissapointing draw, beat this team home and away in cup. Overall still happy with the results.

Valencia and Sevilla are pretty dominant in my save. Struggling to compete with their squads.
How much transfer budget did you get ?

Thanks for sharing.

i don't remember. check my transfers. i had every time 1-3 mln more. i spent it on youth and training facilities. champions league gave me 15-20 mln in 2nd and 3rd season. it helped me to sign berbatov and get up my reputation to high.
Bilbao is an easy opponent every season. Atletico madrid is my main enemy:) falcao and co. they have signed vukcevic, fellaini and j.alba. but they don't get in champions league qualifications :)
I'm playing with my friend through internet. he's on malaga. he got 4 4 2 and spanish cup. 3rd season he gave up the championship playing with bilbao (2-2).

Havn't updated the story as I felt a lack of interest in it from readers. but can update if wanted.

Mate, my story doesn't get bags of comments. But does get plenty of views and has recently got a 4 star rating, just because people don't comment doesn't mean people aren't reading. If you're enjoying your game feel free to share it with us :)

Seasons Over . . .

We had a very good end to the season ( apart from losing away at Osasuna grrrr). So where did we finish???

Well Athletic, Valencia slipped up a couple of times and fell off the pace. So we progressed to a fairly comfortable 3rd with a few games to go.....
THEN, a massive shock, Real Madrid failed to win in 3 of the last 4 games. Allowing me to sneak past and finish in 2nd position!!!!

Above is the table end of season.
Below are some of the awards we won throughout the season.
