Rebuilding team

How is your style of rebuilding a team, let's say a team that relegates from a first to a second tier and such, like Aston Villa or QPR relegating to championship. Do you use a corre of their old players or you just sell them and build a totally new squad based on youngsters/players you think are capable of doing good?

usually i'll just keep a few quality players. offload those who are on an excessive pay check.

then bring in some young ones who will then become the core of the next generation.
