Hi there,
I guess one of the most challenging things for me since i began to play Football Manager was to create a really eye-catchy, attacking tactic. And what's more beautiful than Ajax's Total Football?

I need some advices from the 'veterans' of this forum, and with a little help, maybe a perfect FM Total football tactic would be possible.

My problem right now is that, even though i gave the players all the instruction (retain the ball, short passing, etc), I simply cant hold the posession very long (between 50-55%).

Any help? Thanks

Im afraid its the Holy Grail of FM mate. Ive been trying since 2010 to recreate it and have failed miserably. I always end up with a nice tactic that is suicidal defensively. Im currently working on one with DW and CWB, a F9 a half back and a BBM. The other roles Im still experimenting with. The plan is the half back drops deep to give me three at the back whilst the wingbacks overlap the defensive wingers who hold up the ball and tuck inside. The false 9 drops off and allows a CM attack or the BBM to burst into the space. Theres no real swapping of positions but the players movement almost makes it look like the players are interchanging all the time. Without manually switching the players throughout the game its impossible to recreate. I recommend watching youtube and coming up with your own interpretation as everyone has their own idea of what Total Football is.
