Alright, my name's Liam, I'm 17 and follow Liverpool FC, home and away. I live with my mum in West Derby, Liverpool. I work in my local shop, dropped out of school and college just like all my mates and pretty much every lad on my estate. I'm going to be writing about my story of following Liverpool throughout one or two seasons.

"What do we want?!".. "YANKS OUT!".. "When do we want it?!"... "NOW!" Were the chants being heard during every SOS rally, as i'm sure you know, our two owners Hicks and Gillett have plunged debts and lies on to in my opinion, the greatest club on earth. Spirit of Shankly have been doing all they can to ensure the sale of Liverpool Football Club or their main aim, supporter ownership of the club.

July 2010, approaching pre-season..

It was 12:010am, saturday morning and I was led in bed, I had just woken up, clearing my eyes out when my phone went off. I picked it up, looked at the screen and read the name, "Matty", my best mate. I accepted the call..

"Alright mate."
I answered.

"Eh lad, lad! Have you heard?! ******* **** lad, can't believe it mate!"
he was literally shouting down the phone.

"What are you talking about, Matty?" I was still half asleep.

"We've been taken over Liam!, some Arab fellas or something, I dunno' like, but they're billionaires mate!"

I finished talking to Matty, we had arranged to go down to Anfield to see what was happening and if the arabs where there. I jumped out of bed, put a pair of jeans on, a Lacoste polo and a pair of Adidas Gazelles on, I slipped my phone into my pocket and went to the bathroom. After sorting myself out in there, I left the house and went to meet Matty, who lived 2 minutes away, we got in his beat up Peugeot 106 and drove down to Anfield. Matty parked up and we got out, as we walked round closer to the stadium we saw a load of cameras and presenters stood outside, there was also alot of fans stood about as well. Interviews were also taking place, me and Matty stood around for a bit until we heard a loud cheer, we quickly turned and saw the new owners walking out, they got swamped by fans shaking their hands, getting photos, the lot. After about half an hour of the this, they climbed into their black SUV's and were driven away.

I got home and turned on Sky Sports News, there was a press conference with the two new owners, which had been done while we were at Anfield, earlier that day. I turned the volume up loud and listened in carefully. In very broken english, one of them said these words..

"This is a new era for Liverpool, finally the fans and people of this city are going to get what they deserve."

A big smile lit up across my face, until I remembered when the yanks first took over, promises upon promises yet they only turned out to be lies. I was praying these two would be different, and something in my head was telling me they would be. They also interviewed Roy Hodgson and the press conference ended. I went to bed that night very happy.

Thanks mate, basically i'm managing them on the game but I will be writing from the fans perspective.

Pretty good idea there, but is it related to FM in any way like Alcaraz said?

In the week we had been linked with probably every world class player in the world but Hodgson said nothing about anyone. Until one morning I put on Sky Sports News and Van Der Vaart and David Silva had flown in to Liverpool to have talks with Hodgson. Wow. Two boss players potentially signing for us, these arab fellas must have some money. Throughout the day, they both agreed contracts and signed the next day after passing their medicals. Van Der Vaart signed for £7.5m and Silva for a massive £30m.

Liverpool set off for a pre-season tour of Switzerland in the week, I didn't go but kept a keen eye on results and performences of our two new lads, Silva and Van Der Vaart. We won all 5 games, 2-0, 3-0, 3-1, 4-0 and 2-1. Silva and Van Der Vaart scored 2 each in these games. We had also signed two lads from Fiorentina, Stevan Jovetic and Juan Manuel Vargas. I was really looking forward to this season.

Hodgson released a comment to the press..

We're looking for a striker and a centre back, I won't be naming any names but we certainly have a few names in mind.

Good idea, especially to write from a fans viewpoint. Best of luck mate.

great idea mate and very interesting. You have a definite follower :D

The next week, Hodgson had made his two signings he talked about, and they were BIG. Philippe Mexes and Dider Drogba.. Yeah Didier Drogba. I must admit the Drogba signing shocked me, thought I'd read it wrong when I first saw it, I've never like that lad at all but I have to be honest, he's a boss player. That signing was an undisclosed fee but we had signed Mexes for a fee of around £20m, big money, big player. We were all just hope all these big money signings pay off. At the point I couldn't wait for the season.

First day of the season came round quickly, we had West Ham away, I was going down to East London with the lads so was really looking forward to it. Morning came, I left the house and walked down the road from my estate where the minibus was picking us up. When I arrived I was greeted by all my mates, Tesco bags full of bevvies in hands, "Come 'ed Liam lad, you're already 10 minutes late!" shouted Paul, from the drivers seat. I climbed on to the bus and cracked open a bottle of Stella straight away, sound. Robbie was passing round the yellow'Hillsborough Justice Campaign' stickers and we all stuck them on our jackets and jumpers, as we did every away match. We stopped at a service station on the way down and as always, we robbed the place, I got two packets of Haribo, an inflatable crocodile and a Russian hat.

We finally arrived in London, I was very ****** at this point and was still wearing my Russian hat, can't remember what happened to the crocodile, think I lashed it out the window. We found a pub near Upton Park and settled down in there for a while, decent pub, few Liverpool fans dotted about. It was time to head to the match, so we got up, left the pub but were met by police, they escorted us and who I think were the 'Urchins' to the ground, they must have thought we were with them or something.

The match had kicked off and I must admit, I was quite impressed by the West Ham support, 'bubbles' was very loud but we were also singing the whole time as well, which made for a good atmosphere. We were playing well, well.. we were all over them and West Ham didn't look like scoring at all, our new players were looking class and fitted in well with the team already. As we were attacking, Gerrard lost possesion of the ball to Scott Parker, who sprayed a pass across to Behrami, he took on Johnson.. West Ham were moving at real pace. Behrami then slotted a pass into Piquionne who hit it first time.. Goal. Upton Park erupted. Our end fell silent. I looked over to the bench and Roy Hodgson had his head in his hands. This much money and we were 1-0 down to West Ham. "Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool..." started being chanted from our end. Second half began and again, we were controlling the game but couldn't score. In the 75th minute, David Silva got the ball and took it inside, he passed it across to Van Der Vaart who, using a lovely piece of skill took it past Spector, he slid it through to Torres who was one on one... Goal, slotted it into the bottom right hand corner. We went mad. Everyone was falling over seats and legs everywhere, I managed to lose my Russian hat which was a dissapointment, during the celebrations I also caught half a Chicken Balti Pie on my shoulder, which was thrown by a West Ham fan. Cheers you cockney ****.

The match finished 1-1 and we headed back up north.

The next match was at home to Aston Villa, me and the lads met up in The Sandon pub, had a few pints and left for the match. We sat on the kop, didn't all sit next to each other because our season tickets are quite far apart, other than mine and Matty's which were right next to each other. The match had kicked off, Aston Villa were the more defensive team, playing deep, playing the long ball and just generally didn't look like scoring. Liverpool were playing very well, having alot of chances and by the 30th minute mark we should have easily been at least 3-0 up, but we weren't, it was still 0-0 at half time. Second half began, Gerrard picked up the ball and sprayed it across to David Silva, who cut inside and slid a through ball in past the defence which was picked up by Drogba, he stormed past the keeper who was left stranded and just passed it into the net, 1-0 Liverpool. The rest of the game flew by and it finished 1-0, well in!

The next game was away to Fulham, I didn't have enough money to get down there but a couple of the lads did go down and I was getting text updates from them. The first text update came 20 mins after kick off, "1-0 lad, Silva" .. then I got another one 20 minutes later, "2-0, Torres".. the last one I got was 30 minutes before the end, "3-0, Drogba". A 3-0 win, sound.

Didier Drogba celebrates goal against Fulham, this time for a different club.

In the week, me and the lads gathered round Paul's house to watch the Europa League group stage draw. It was a bit ***** watching the teams come out and it being a constant reminder we were in the Europa league and not the champions league. Oh well, the teams in our group were..

Liverpool
Lokomotiv Moscow
Juventus
Shamrock Rovers

Juventus eh, good team but that match might not just be about what's on the pitch..

looks interesting mate, i'll check back from time to time...

what have you done? edited funds and owners and stuff with the editor?

What I might do is keep it going but start it again, do the signings and that on editor.

Cheers lads.
