Season Review


Domestic dominance with one of the poorer teams i've ever managed is worrying for entertainment in Serbia especially with Partizan being so poor! At least we've turned our finances around and made a £7m profit over the season that will allow us back into the Champions League next term.

Player of the season for me was midfielder Bosancic who only survived the cull as nobody was wanting to buy him outright and our major lack of a midfield, one of my luckiest saves after playing nearly every game and scoring 19 times for us. Surprise player of the season was Milos Cvetkovic who replaced Marki Petkovic at right back after the transfer window and player MUCH better.

A very solid 1st season together. 16 clean sheets in 31 games and a 2nd cap for Serbia was well deserved! Almost no improvement in his stats which is VERY Worrying at this stage in his carear.

If there was a busier footballer in the world i'd like to meet him! 82 appearances for the 3 teams and Vukasin was indispensable for all of them. No u19 action next year where i'll be looking at him to lead my defense.

Only gradual improvement in his 1st full season. Only got 16 goals and was our 2nd top scorer not something i ever expected of him. Could maybe do with me signing a good veteran for him to learn from or upgrade the coaching!

We won the title at a ridiculous canter. 20 points clear and even if Cukaricki tied on points with us they were 44 goals behind in the goal difference charts. Would be a surprise if Partizan werent back up to 2nd next season. Marko Nikolic will be lucky to stay on another season after coming 3rd. In the relegation play off Radnik Rosa beat Borac and they will swap leagues for next season as Radniki 1923 & Donji Srem also go down.




Euro Rankings
Red Star are ranked 227th in the European rankings. How fast can we get back to the top 100?
Serbia is Ranked 27th and need to get up to 15th to get a 2nd Champions League spot and 12th for a automatic spot.

Serbian U19s won the European Championships with 7 players from Red star helping bring home the bacon.
We improve the squad only loosing 1 of my key starting 11 from last year.
We win the first ever Serbian Super Cup

I'm pretty happy with how this developed! We cleared away a lot of our donkeys, overplayed oldies and reserves. Only star player we lost was Vukan Savicecic to Deportivo for £3m, who did well but he wasnt looking like turning into a superstar.

Very positive first seasons for us all last time around. 15 clean sheets is 31 games is an amazing effort and as the leader on the defensive side of the team i have to congratulate you! Luka you got 14 goals in the League and was in the running for golden boot in your 1st full season. I think you can win it this year Luka!

Before i was blundering with right wingers i had already brought back Serbia's best export of last summer. I've seen Zivkovic do brilliant things for me in my Man Utd save so unhappy at Porto he's back for the season and if i can some how raise £4.5m i can buy him.

I had offers on a further 4 players on deadline day the obvious Jovic, Jovanovic & Rajkovic but the real surprise was the 3 offers i got for Mihailo Ristic. PSV & Ausburg bidding over £5m for the services of a man who could not stay off the trainers bench last year. Reeked of potential but he couldnt stay fit long enough so in the end im delighted to get so much money for a player who was such a let down.

Two defeats in the Champions League to the big two puts our European future in trouble until we put on our best performance of the season by beating Olympiakos and secure last 32 Europa League football.
Droped points to Javor as our questionable League form goes on in a far from perfect month
