Tottenham complete £40m Dortmund Double Signing

Tottenham confirmed that they have completed a £40m deal to sign two players from the German Champions. The first is German defender Mats Hummels, the second is Polish international Jakub Blaszczykowski. It is reported however, that the deal has took a large chunk out of the club's budget, and AVB has said there will be no more signings this transfer window:

"I'm incredibly happy to be able to welcome Mats and Jakub to the club. They both have extremes amount of talent, and both played a part in helping Dortmund win the Bundesliga last season. Hummels is only 22, and I think he will blossom into the best centre back in the world. Because of the large sums involved however, there will be no more signings this window."

Another piece of important news at White Hart Lane was that Real Madrid had a bid rejected by Tottenham for Captain Luka Modric. The fee involved has not been made public, but reports coming from Spain claim it was 'well over' £20m. It is understood that Villas-Boas is to hold talks with his agent before the window shuts, to discuss a potential new long term contract.
