Regens - Contract start date

Hi fellas

is there any reason as to why regen contract start dates are in some cases 2-3 years in the future?


This means me building out an excellent u18 coaching staff is kind of pointless as the youth intakes for your own club is so sporadic.

Any help would be appreciated

I think it's to do with the age they are allowed to become professional. So if a regen is 15/16 but in that country can only become professional at 17/18 hence the wait period. Agreeing a professional contract does mean that other clubs can poach them for cheap however, unlike if they only have a youth contract agreed.
