So, I need some advice,
If I have a player worth £4.3M, he has a weekly salary of £90,000. His stats are weak.
His match performance is below average.
I had one offer but he wanted £37,500 per week until contract actually ended.
He has 1.5 years remaining on the contract.
I don't need him, not even as a backup.
Why not just release him?

Well if you got an offer of £4.3mil, paying them wages only accounts to around £2.6m (not done the maths was an estimate!), So you will still get rid of the player and make a million and a bit on top?

True,

However, that deal has passed since I declined paying him additional wages with him not in the club :)

I'm not sure if you can just release him on a free...his wages seem to be too much for you to do that. Would be wiser to sell him, and just give him as much money as he wants. Alternatively, what you can do is put him in your reserves or u-19s and just annoy him so he will want to leave. then he might stop demanding extra wages up until his contract ends.

Ok, so I tested it...
I filed for mutual termination of contract. The player agreed.
The contract was mutually terminated, no penalties were mentioned and the player is no longer with the club...
