After seeing about 30 closed threads in 2 pages of this forum. I thinks it just better to scrap all the threads (the sticky ones) in the forum such as "Looking For A Player Thread" etc.

More and more people are making threads like "CB for QPR?" and without feedback, it will be closed. Its annoying and frustrating getting a thread closed, and seeing everyone elses closed isn't too good of a feeling either. Its just a thought. Any feedback is accepted..

Thanks,
FFT.

P.S: Even when i post on the sticky threads, i never get advice anyway, theres way too many posts, i can't even find the feedback even if someone gave me some. :(

Had a convo like this about a week ago
Nothing was done bout it :(

the correct procedure is for someone to quote your original message with their reply in a sticky, but i appreciate questions and indeed answer do get lost.

however imo if we had a free for all it would be absolute chaos

I think the players category should be more in depth e.g. inside the players category there should be a thread for each position, a review my team thread, a wonderkid thread, a bargain thread, a free agent thread e.t.c

If people used the sticky threads, then we wouldn't have this problem. If you think the closure's of threads are annoying, then when people ask for help on them threads, reply to them, because that is the problem at the moment.

Good to see your using your new nickname FFT! ;)

Maybe the answer would be take away the ability to start new threads and people could only post in the stickys, when when people reply to your post, if the quote it, it flags it up for your account the next time you log on?

just an idea..

yeah that would be better :)

If you want to give advice about how the forums should be run FFT then at least make sure you're posting in the relevant section. ;)

a wonderkid thread, a bargain thread, a free agent thread e.t.c

Threads like those exist, and they are exactly the reason why this sub-forum exists. The stickies are there too stop the quality threads from being buried by constant threads like "OMG I'M MAN CITY AND NEED A RIGHT BACK".

if theres a way to volunteer to have your children Lee then please let me know

Or you could just use the appropriate threads and reply to people which would therefore stop these threads coming up all the time. No point having in depth threads, because you will never stop people making their own threads about what player they want.

People posting the same thread over and over is what made me quit this site.

I took time to make a sticky called the links thread with links to each team, position, type of player eg youngster, bargain. When someone would fail to even look at my thread whcih was marked PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING or search I would close the thread and link them to my links thread and say please use it. I dunno whats going on now but its most likely all brought on by yourselfs being retards.

Ive not looked at the FM forums in about a year but back then i'd be closing 10-20 Man City threads a day. Basically id come on fmbase and close every thread as it would be a duplocate of a duplicate thread and that was it.

Hardly anyone actually answers the "looking for player thread" i've found,so i made it in a thread,so hopefully someone would respond.

ouch. :O

I think it would make FMBase a better place if we didn't close threads asking for players to sign. Of course, people managing Man City, like myself, its stupid to ask for players to sign.. But for Championship teams? We should let that one slide and give them needed advice rather than them be directed to a thread where they would be no different from about 50 people in the same hour trying to get a player name to buy? :(

well, i admit that i dont have a very wide knowledge of players and not all the players which i suggest are good but i do try to help whenever possible. i believe that there are also fellow members who do the same. sometimes its not because people do not want to respond, its just that they may not know of the players which others require :)

I dont see the point of closing threads if theyre still there when theyre closed?

no one answers people in those threads, i never see mods or regular posters on there, i cant be arsed to look through 16 pages for one to reply to, at the end of the day its seans decision isnt it, its his site
