Reserve Team v Loans

Hi,

I have a question regarding loans. Usually, I loan out every player in my youth squad and reserves (with less than a 3* potential) in order to save money and in the belief that a chance at first team football is better than my reserves or youth team. I usually accept every request and let the players decide where they want to go.

Should I be doing this or should I be keeping them in my team so that they can receive my training?

I only send the player on loan if the offer says they will be part of the first team. If they are going to be used as a back up, you may as well keep them at your club. You will probably have better facilities and coaches at your club, but there is no substitute for first team football.

I normally keep them at my club till they are 19 then give them a season out on loan ready to come back next season to try and push my first team for a place. I'd check their facilities first make sure they have good training facilities and make sure they are going to be playing, and I always put a can be recalled clause in there just incase.
