Is there any way to change your U21 team too reserves instead so I can give some older players needing fitness game time?

I'm fed up of the limitations on how many seniors can play for the u21's.

I am managing in the English Premier League.

Thanks

I don't think you can. They (English FA) changed the Reserves to U21's to try give English youngsters a better chance at reaching premier league level since most didn't make it out of the reserves with the number of older players taking up the reserve XI.

The rules haven't changed, only the name. You can field 3 outfield players over-21 at the moment, and when it was called the 'reserve team' rather than U21s, the limit was exactly the same. :)

Haha, never even noticed so I didn't :P
I remembered hearing the English FA was planning on revamping the reserve leagues in England and I assumed SI had got in there quickly and changed it.

Ah ok then well that makes sense. It is a pain to deal with when one season you have Europe and the next you don't. Especially since some players just aren't wanted even for loans or frees. I guess I'll just move them to an affiliate then.

Still it sucks, I'm sure in rl some clubs have a choice to attend a regional reserve league, maybe that's only beneath the prem though. E.g. the Lancashire reserve league.
