My reserve team stopped playing. I have lots of players on available for reserve matches until match fit and they're severely lacking match fitness since forever. They haven't played a minute of reserve football. I don't even get the "Team reserves 1-3 other team reserves" message. I'm sort of desperate, because even though I'm doing well in the league each time a player gets injured he gets replaced by an unfit player, and whenever the injured guy has to get fitness back I have to play him in the first team.

Did you place them into a reserve league at the start of the season? The one where it asks if you want them particapating in a league?

It's first season, I suppose they are.

//Edit: They're even playing in the CFA - C, and they supposedly have several games played and I can even see the results, but no match report nor anything.

Some teams are not entered into the reserves league in the first season in the database. Southampton is an example.

I've edited my reply, they're supposed to be playing in the CFA group "C", and they're even supposed to be doing well.
