Kenny Dalglish Steps Down

News has come in today that Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has resigned. Rumours suggest that'King Kenny' was upset at the current setup of the club. Dalglish had this to say at a recent press conference. 'I'm very sorry to leave Liverpool but it is in my best interest. It will be a sad moment and I must thank all the fans for their support. Liverpool will still have a place in my heart and I hope Tom Werner can find a suitable replacement. Tom Werner, current Liverpool owner,has assured fans that he is looking to assign a suitable replacement as soon as possible. Liverpool are thought to be interested in Rafa Benitez, Roberto Martinez and former England midfielder turned manager Stewart Harris.



This is my first attempt at a story so bare with me and helpful criticism is encouraged. I am not using any updates.

'Harris in dreamland'
​Liverpool have today announced that Stewart Harris will be the new manager of Liverpool. Harris recently acquired his coaching badge and has been ready for a challenge. In a recent press conference Harris has said to be in dreamland and can't wait to get involved. He is a former player himself and has a strong relationship with the club. Tom Werner had this to say on reviling Harris as manager. ' I know he is inexperienced as a manager but he has a strong knowledge on football. He has very big plans and we expect big things from him.'

5 depart Anfield as new boss shapes new look Liverpool

Recently appointed Liverpool manager Stewart Harris has wasted no time reshaping his squad with 5 players leaving. Jack Robinson, John Flanagan, Danny Wilson and Jay Spearing have all gone on loan to Sheffield United, Newcastle and Birmingham respectively to gain first team experience while Fabio Auerlio has departed to Sporting Lisbon for a fee of £2.2 Million. In other transfer news Manchester City have splashed the cash on Darijo Srna and Danny for a fee of £15.5 Million and £20 Million.

Liverpool have today unveiled Papiss Cisse as their new signing. The fee Liverpool paid is believed to be around £21 Million. Cisse has joined from Freiburg after scoring 22 goals in 32 appearances last season. In a recent press conference Cisse had this to say. 'I am delighted to be able to join a club with a fan base of this size. I have spoke with Stewart and share his optimism and believe that this team will be in the Champions League next year. Harris also said ' I have sent scouts to watch Papiss and watched him myself and after a lot of work and research we narrowed it down to Papiss as the man we want.' Cisse will join Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll as the first team strikers and will face a challenge breaking into the squad.

Clarke resigns

Liverpool have today announced that assistant manager Steve Clarke has stepped down as assistant manager as a sign of loyalty to former manager Kenny Dalglish. Clarke has said that he wishes the club well but wanted to stay loyal to Dalglish who first brough thim into the club. Liverpool have signed Terry McDermott to take the assistant manager role.

Pre Season Review

It was a decent pre season, poor result against Genk but it was the lads first game in a new tactic. Daniel Agger will be out for 2 week after being injured against Fiorientina. Luis Suarez, Maxi Rodriguez and Daniel Agger all impressed in pre season.

New Reds striker Papiss Cisse strikes the winner on his debut

Stewart Harris has had the best possible start to his Liverpool career by defeating Everton 4-3 at Goodison Park. Things started off badly for Liverpool when debutant Sebastian Coates saw red after a horrific two footed lunge in the 25th minute. Things got even worse for Liverpool on 28 minute when Tim Cahill played a brilliant ball to Drenthe who put a low cross in which found the feet of Cahill who tucked it away with ease. Liverpool came out of half time looking motivated and on 49 minutes Martin Skrtel equalised from a Maxi Rodriguez corner. Liverpool then went on to control the game and on 59 minutes went on to win a free kick out on the left. Maxi whipped the ball in and found the head of Skrtel who made no mistake. Liverpool doubled their lead on 62 minutes when Luis Suarez dribbled past John Heitingha and placed his shot in the bottom corner, 3-1. Everton started to control the game after that goal and just 3 minutes after Liverpool's 3rd Saha struck a shot which Reina dived to save, the rebound then hit Carragher on the head and rolled past the line, 3-2. Just 3 minutes afterthat Drenthe dribbled down the line taking on Martin Kelly and whipped the ball in. Jack Rodwell controlled the ball well and took a shot at Reina's near post and scored, 3-3. Liverpool once again took control and on 80 minutes Glen Johnson put a cross in which found Papiss Cisse. Cisse took a touch and volleyed it into the top of the net from close range. What a debut! What a game! Next up for Liverpool, Arsenal travel to Anfield.

Luis Suarez grabs man of the match with a brilliant double.

Stewart Harris continued to delight fans with a second consecutive win in the Barclays Premier League. This time it was at the expense of Arsenal in a thrilling 2-1 win for Liverpool. Arsenal started the game off on a high after Robin Van Persie scored a diving header on 5 minutes from Andrey Arshavin's free kick. Arsenal began to dominate but on 26 minutes Lucas put a brilliant ball over the top to Luis Suarez who took the ball past Szczesny and passed the ball into the back of the net. The match then went back and forth with both Arsenal and Liverpool creating chances and having spells of dominance. But it wasn't until the 93rd minute when Stewart Downing's defence splitting pass put Luis Suarez through on goal to finish it coolly. There was suspicions of offside but the goal was given and Liverpool stole the 3 points.

Liverpool will next play Cheltenham Town at Anfield in the League Cup 2nd round.

 
Good start. How did you manage to find the money to pay for Cisse?
 
Why did you buy Cisse I know he is a great scorer and everything but Luis Suarez is a beast on this game and Andy Carroll is alright.
 
Thanks guys, with Cisse I payed 2 million up front and am then paying 19 million over 48 months. I am not using the jan updates as I wanted to start the season as it was in real life and I needed a deep lying forward so I bought Cisse

Luis Suarez celebrates his first hat-trick in Liverpool colours

Liverpool have advanced to the third round of the League Cup after a 4-1 win over League 2 side Cheltenham Town. Suarez opened the scoring on 12 minutes after placing the ball in the back of the net after a through ball from Charlie Adam. Liverpool doubled their lead on the 24th minute when Glen Johnson's cross was met by Suarez who blasted home from close range. Cheltenham got one back when Daryl Duffy met Andrew's corner with a vicious header. Liverpool once again went two up and Suarez completed his hat-trick after a great run and equally great finish to beat the keeper at his far post. Liverpool completed the scoring on 79 minutes when Martin Kelly headed home from Raheem Stirling's corner.

Maxi picks up man of the match after an impressive performance

Liverpool have now won 4 in 4 in all competition under Stewart Harris after a 4-1 win over Fulham.Liverpool started off badly with Lucas getting sent off in the 10th minute for violent conduct. That is now Liverpool's 2nd red card in 3 Premier League games.But it was Maxi Rodriguez who struck first on 12 minutes after he blasted his shot at Schwarzer's near post. Jamie Carragher doubled Liverpool's lead on 34 minutes after converting Maxi's corner with a well placed header. Liverpool went three up on 48 minutes when Luis Suarez headed in from Stewart Downing's cross. Liverpool scored a fourth when Luis Suarez picked up Daniel Agger's 40 yard pass and slotted the ball past the keeper. Fulham scored a consolation in the 68th minute after a mistake at the back saw Bobby Zamora through on goal and make no mistake.
