Seedorf: No Milan contact

By Football Italia staff

seedorf-team490ai_0.jpg

Clarence Seedorf, still officially Milan Coach, claims he has had no contact from the club regarding his position.

It has been reported that the Dutchman's exit and Pippo Inzaghi's arrival as San Siro boss is all but a done deal but, speaking to Sport Mediaset today, the tactician said he had heard nothing from the Rossoneri.

He also paid tribute to the affection the club's fans have been showing him during this difficult period.

"I'm reading everything, just like you," Seedorf said. "I have had no communication from the club.

"I'm well, I've been spending some time with my family and friends. The affection all the fans I've been bumping into has really pleased me.

"I can say 'Forza Milan' because Milan will always be there, like the fans.

'Inzaghi, Silvio, Galliani meet?'

By Football Italia staff

inzaghi490ai_3.jpg

Pippo Inzaghi, Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani are reportedly in a dinner meeting in Milan this evening.

According to respected journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the trio are discussing the Rossoneri's strategy moving forward, with Inzaghi set to be appointed as the club's new first-team Coach.

The San Siro giants however are still yet to formally dispense with the services of current boss Clarence Seedorf, with the Dutchman claiming today that he has heard nothing from the club regarding his position.

Montolivo faces six months out

By Football Italia staff

montolivo-injury-ireland490ai_0.jpg

Riccardo Montolivo has undergone surgery on his injury and initial indications are Milan could be without him for up to six months.

The midfielder suffered a broken tibia over the weekend whilst in action for Italy and was first thought to be facing a recovery time of between three and four months.

This morning he underwent surgery as planned, with the procedure reportedly lasting almost two hours.

Milan have communicated that the operation was a 'technical success' and that Montolivo will be assessed in 40 days' time to determine 'the best period of recovery, unless there are complications'.

However, ANSA are running quotes from the surgeon, Dr Herbert Schoenhuber, on the projected recovery time.

"Six months out. For this type of injury this is usually the time," Dr Schoenhuber is quoted as saying.

"Back in four to five months? No, I do not think so.

"And everything went well. In 40 days' time we will do the assessments and then decide on what to do."

Whilst Adriano Galliani has publicly stated the Rossoneri's support for their captain, Tuttosport indicate he is also making plans to make up for his absence on the pitch.

It is believed that, alongside redeeming Andrea Poli on a permanent deal, Galliani is considering movement for one of three specific targets initially identified.

Specifically, these are believed to be Catania's Francesco Lodi and Atalanta duo Daniele Baselli and Luca Cigarini, the latter co-owned with Napoli.

Doubts over Balotelli, Kaka, Honda

By Football Italia staff

honda-balotelli490ai_3.jpg

Uncertainty continues to surround the future of Milan's front-line, with speculation around Mario Balotelli, Ricky Kaka and Keisuke Honda.

The Gazzetta dello Sport continue reports that Balotelli's future with the Rossoneri may only be until the summer, if an offer upwards of ?35m were to come in.

It is a situation that the publication alleges the player is also 'anxious' about, with Milan seen as keen to raise funds from his possible sale.

Meanwhile, the Corriere dello Sport describe prospective new Coach Pippo Inzaghi as 'almost certain' to be working next season without Balotelli, but also with doubts over other members of the team's attack.

Links between Kaka and MLS franchise Orlando City have resurfaced, with it believed that the Brazilian is once more considering moving to America in January 2015.

Meanwhile the Rome based newspaper also say that winter arrival Honda, who has struggled for form in his first six months at San Siro is 'likely to be sold'.

Inzaghi meets with Menez

By Football Italia staff

menez-lille490ai_2.jpg

Jeremy Menez has met with Pippo Inzaghi on the Spanish island of Ibiza, with rumours circulating that he could be on his way to Milan.

The French winger is out of contract after being allowed to leave Paris Saint-Germain following three seasons for Les Parisiens.

Stories have circulated previously that the 27-year-old would welcome a return to Serie A, having played for Roma between 2008 and 2011.

And it seems as if the Rossoneri could be an option following a sighting of Inzaghi and director Adriano Galliani meeting with Menez whilst on holiday.

The reported sighting would also indicate that, as expected, Inzaghi has been chosen as Clarence Seedorf's successor, and is already lining up transfer targets.

Inzaghi finally announced

By Football Italia staff

Taruhan-Judi-Bola2.jpg

After weeks of speculation Milan have agreed a severance package with Clarence Seedorf and announced the signing of Pippo Inzaghi as Head Coach.

The former Rossoneri striker has been charged with restoring the club to the top table of European football after a disappointing campaign that saw the side finish 8th in Serie A.

Similar to Seedorf, Inzaghi has no previous experience of coaching a senior professional team.

The 40-year-old spent 11 seasons playing for Milan, where he won two Serie A titles and two Champions League titles, and also won 57 caps for Italy.

He has been in charge of Milan's under-19 team for the past two seasons.

Big changes are expected at the San Siro with a host of stars set to be axed while the Italian media expect Inzaghi to promote many of the club's exciting youngsters in a bid to revamp the Rossoneri.

By Football Italia staff

Milan have agreed the free transfer of PSG winger Jeremy Menez while Robinho will join CSKA Moscow.

The first act of Pippo Inzaghi as Rossoneri manager is to sign France international Jeremy Menez on a free transfer from French champions PSG.

Menez has endured a difficult season in Paris, playing in just 16 league games, with most of those appearances coming from the bench.

Brazil attacker Robinho is the first player to leave under the watch of Inzaghi after CSKA Moscow agreed a five million Euro deal.

Meanwhile ex-Milan stars Christian Panucci and Christian Vieri have joined Inzaghi's backroom staff.

TEN-YEAR RECORD:

05-06: 3rd
06-07: 4th
07-08: 5th
08-09: 3rd
09-10: 3rd
10-11: 1st
11:12: 2nd
12-13: 3rd
13:14: 8th

LAST SEASON:

Serie A: 8th
Coppa Italia: Eliminated at Quarter-finals
UEFA Champions League: Eliminated at Round of 16
Top scorer: Mario Balotellii - 18 (14 in Serie A)

THE BOSS:

Filippo Inzaghi. The fan favourite has served his apprenticeship managing the Rossoneri's youth side for two seasons but questions remain about the rookie coach especially given the trigger-happy nature of his board.

KEY PLAYER:

Mario Balotelli. No one divides opinion quite like 'Super Mario', but regardless the Italian striker remains Milan's only genuine world class talent. Since returning to his homeland in 2012 he has scored 30 goals in 54 matches. Will the Italian game's great enigma lead Milan to glory or self-destruct?

ONE TO WATCH:

Bryan Cristante. The 19-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season last time round and will be looking to establish himself in the Milan midfield. Clever, pacey with an eye for a pass, the Italian schemer could become one of the greats if he can fulfill his early promise at the San Siro.

ODDS:

13/1 to win Serie A
4/1 to qualify for the Champions League

After 339 appearances for Milan Kaka has left the San Siro for the final time.

The Rossoneri have decided not to renew the playmaker's contract and he has left on a free.

During two spells in the Italian capital Kaka won Serie A, Coppa Italia, Uefa Champions League, Uefa Super Cup and Uefa Club World Cup. He was also awarded the Ballon D'Or in 2007.

Milan's supporters will be sad to see the inspirational midfielder depart as Fillipo Inzaghi continues to rebuild at the San Siro.

Phillipe Mexes, Michael Essien and Giampaolo Pazzini have also left the club on free transfers.

Monaco sign Mario

By Football Italia staff

Mario+Balotelli+AC+Milan+v+Bologna+FC+ZsebzvUyoNWl.jpg

Mario Balotelli has completed a 35m Euro move to French giants Monaco.

The
Italian striker has long-been linked with a move away from the San Siro and after a fairly underwhelming second half of the season Fillipo Inzaghi has decided to cash in on the frontman.

Milan will now pursue attacking options in the transfer market after losing Balotelli and Giampaolo Pazzini.

Do you think Milan were right to cash in on Balotelli?

Milan tie up midfield trio

By Football Italia staff

Wesley+Sneijder+Spain+v+Netherlands+Group+-GDSh5i3xifl.jpg

AC Milan have completed the triple signings of attacking midfielders Wesley Sneijder, Ganso and Roberto Frimino.

Netherlands international Sneijder, who joins from Galatasaray for ?10m, has previously starred for Milan's city rivals Inter.

The 31-year-old schemer has an outstanding CV having won Eredivise, La Liga, Serie A, Super Liga, Uefa Champions League and Fifa Club World Cup.

ganso.jpg

Brazil international Ganso moves from Atletico Mineiro for the cut-price of ?2m as his contract was nearing its end.

The 25-year-old has long been linked with a move to Europe although he fell out of favour with the national side under Phil Scolari.

roberto-firmino.jpg

Roberto Frimino moves to the San Siro on a free transfer after his contract expired at Hoffenheim. The Brazilian emerged as one of the top talents in the Bundesliga over the past two seasons and Milan had to beat a host of sides to his signature.
