Retiring Shirt Numbers

I was just wondering, i'm starting a game as Rushden and Diamonds as they are my local team and i thought that i could retire the shirt number 1 for Dale Roberts R.I.P like real life. Is there a way to do that??

I don't know if you can technically retire a shirt, you'd just have to never give it to a player when you choose squad numbers at the start of the season.

On FM10 the #12 shirt was dedicated to Rovers fans.

Although this was a pre-programmed feature that SI did. You may be able to do it the editor !

or maybe contact SI and see if they can do something like that in the next patch. Dont see anyone arguing with that gesture.

That's a great gesture.

It would be a cool feature, I would probably use it when my legendary players retire.

More info for those who fancy a read, most seem to be posthumous.

I believe there might be a way to do this somehow with the editor, I will look into this and ask on SI as well

Well, if R&D are doing that, the 11.3 patch will have it in. I don't think there is a way to change using the editor.
