End of Season Summary

It was a very easy season for league winner Ajax, who finished top by a massive 18 points. The neutrals will probably be hoping for a closer run title next season. VVV, Zwolle and RKC suffered the disappointment of relegation, while FC Emmen, Excelsior and Go Ahead (....?) all won promotion to the top division from the Eerste Divise.

Meanwhile, Siem de Jong of Ajax won the Golden boot, with FC Twente's Douglas coming second, and PSV's Kevin Strootman coming third.

Sigporsson won the Top Goalscorer award with 27 goals. Castillion came second with 18 goals, and Fabrizio Miccoli came third with 16.

Christian Eriksen won Young Player of The Year, with Fischer and Clasie coming second and third retrospectively.

Frank de Boer win Manager's Manager of The Year, with Jan Wouters coming second, and Adrie Koster finished third.

Elsewhere around the world, Manchester City Won the Premiership, Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga and Barcelona won the La Liga title. Chelsea also beat Bayen Munich in the final of the Champions League three two after a thrilling encounter. Tottenham also beat Fenerbahce in the final of the Europa League

FC Twente Announce Several Signings

Rui Costa today unveiled 4 new signings, including Befetimbi Gomis on a free transfer. The France international was released by his former club Lyon. They have also spent £3.9 Million on Dnipro centre back Douglas, and yes, that does mean the will be playing Douglas and Douglas at centre back. They also spent £110k on Freddy Adu, and got Anouar Kali on a free transfer from FC Utrecht.

They have also seen Mannes, Plet and Gyasi go out the club for a combined total of £3.3 Million

Botafogo Approach Rui Costa!

In an extraordinary turn of event, Botafogo chairman Mauricio Assumpcao has offered Rui Costa the position of manager at his club, the man who he turned down just 12 months ago. Botafogo are now without a manager after sacking Celso Roth. They are currently sitting in 16th place in the Brazilian First Division, just one point from safety.

Rui Costa has not given any indication that he wants to leave, so the offer may come as a bit of a surprise.
