Returning to an old save

This may sound like a stupid question, but does anybody else have trouble returning to a game they have left for a while. I had gone four seasons with Parma, and it was my most enjoyable game ever, but then I started a new game and have gone three years with that one. Now I have decided I want to return to Parma, but I am finding it hard to re-adjust, and get familiar with my players again. Has anybody has a similar experience?

Yeah when I was going back to my Arsenal save which I started on the 10.1 patch I didn't even remember why I had bought some players and other things similar. At the moment though FM is boring me to death and any and every time I try to start a new game or as you say return to an old save I just give up after I lose a game.
