Hey guys, my tactic is starting to leak goals defensively again and i was wondering if any of you could help me? All suggestions welcome :)

Napoli Proceed to Quarter Finals:

Today Napoli have proceeded to the Champions League Quarter Finals after a 3-2 aggregate win over Zenit St. Petersburg. Napoli and Zenit were even going into the 2nd leg clash at the Gazprom Arena after a 1-1 draw at the San Paolo in the first leg. Napoli took the lead through Brede Hangeland in the 36th minute after a beautiful header of a Marek Hamsik corner. Zenit clawed one back after Alexander Kerzakhov put the ball in the back of the net. In the 61st minute Napoli hit a counter attack after a Zenit corner, Christian Maggio took it down the right wing from inside his own half, hit a nice ball to Milan Jovanovic and he curled the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box for one of the goals of the tournament. Things went from bad to worse when Igor Denisov recieved his marching orders for two yellow cards in the 85th minute. Manuel Blasi got the same treatment in the 90th minute.

Napoli now must face defending champions Barcelona in the Quarter Finals.

Mid May Special Report:

Serie A
Napoli vs Lecce (Away) 3-0
Maggio, Lavezzi, Emanuelson

Serie A
Napoli vs Catania (Home) 2-0
Lavezzi, Miranda

With one game left to go in the Serie A, only two teams can become champions, Inter Milan (1st) and Napoli (2nd). This scenario looks exactly like last year, with minimal differences between the two teams. Napoli have been weaker in defence, but have always looked more like scoring. When the teams have met, Inter Milan have not lost in the last two years vs Manuel Muller's Napoli. The so called German Revolution at Napoli has brought much success, but never having beaten Inter Milan, Manuel Muller will be looking for some luck this year.

Last Year Finalised Table:

This Year Table (One game to go):

Napoli might have the slight advantage in the last game when they are away to 7th placed Udinese, while Inter Milan play 4th placed Fiorentina.

All will be revealed on the 15th May.

Not meant to be

Napoli have once again finished second in the Serie A. This makes it two years straight, but this time, not on points, on goal difference. Napoli needed a win, and a Inter Milan loss, but Inter drew regardless of Napoli's win. Napoli won 3-0 over Udinese with two goals from Marek Hamsik and one from Manuel Blasi. Inter had a drab 0-0 draw with Fiorentina.

Muller is Mexico's Man

Manuel Muller of Napoli is now head coach of Mexico National Football Team as of the 19th June 2010. Muller took over from Javier Aguirre after he was sacked after a string of unimpressive matches.

Any Ideas for a new thread name?

New Season in Naples

Manuel Muller has been give 64 million dollars from the Napoli Board to spend on new players and improve the team.

Transfer Targets:

Domenico Criscito: Best LB in Serie A Last season, and thats the position we need to improve on, hopefully for around 30-35 million.

Ibrahim Affelay: With Riquelme not performing as well as I would have liked the 25yr old Dutch AM could be a great replacement, maybe up to 20 million.

Matej Delac/David De Gea/Alex Smithies: All young goalkeepers, all future stars, Delac the most expensive, Smithies the cheapest. 5-15 million.

Poor finishing almost costs Mexico:

Mexico have defeated Venezuela in the opening match of the 2011 Copa America. Mexico prevailed 2-0 eventually, but might count themselves lucky after missing a host of chances. A total of 21 shots, 10 on target, and 8 clear cut chances but only 2 goals might leave Manuel Muller giving the boys extra shooting practice. Mexico face giants Argentina in 3 days, and Mexico need to take their chances if they want anything from that game.

Suprise of the Season?

Mexico have provided one of the biggest shocks of the tournament so far by beating Argentina 2-0. Many people thought Argentina would go through with ease, but Mexico proved a great challenge. Manuel Muller said:
To score two goals against Argentina is amazing, to beat them, even better, but to keep a clean sheet in the process is all I could have wished for. The boys played brilliantly and should be praised for a great deal of time for this win!

Kits late but good!

Mexico's new team kits have been released after their initial 10 day delay. The kits were supposed to be released before the opening Copa America game, but a mix up forced them back till now.

Mexico Settle for 4th:

Mexico have had to settle for fourth position in the Copa America after an unimpressive performance vs Uruguay in the 3/4 playoff, with Diego Forlan (My all time most hated player :@) scoring the only goal in the 1-0 Uruguay victory :'(.

Napoli Transfer Round-Up:

In:

Eden Hazard - 24.5 Mil

20 year old Belgian AM, starting position, look to develop into one of Napoli's greatest ever players.

David De Gea - 21 Mil

Overspent, BUT one of the keepers of the future, maybe the best in the world one day.

Yury Zhirkov - 20 Mil

Finally a good left back, YES LB, he had been retrained at Chelsea as a LB and I intend to use him that way.

Andre Santos - 16.5 Mil

With Emanuelson angry and wanting to leave, I signed Andre and am retraining him as a LM.

Salomon Kalou - Loan Fee 1.1 Mil

Bit of cover for L/RM and FC, great versatile player, for a year long loan.

Out:

Leandro Rinaudo - 3.4 Mil

No need, easy money.

I might look to bring in one more CB, young under 20, just to develop, to grow into a future Hangeland.

Mexico Hold France in Even Contest:

Mexico held France in a 1-1 draw at the Stade De France. Giovani Dos Santos got Mexico off the mark in the 39th minute. After a dominant first half, Mexico looked relaxed in the second half, and France took that advantage, came out all guns firing, shooting from everywhere and pulled back level in the 52nd minute through Karim Benzema. The match was always going to be close, and both teams should accept that a draw was a fair result.

Shaky Start to Season:

Serie A
Napoli vs Parma
(Away)
1-1
Riquelme - Paloschi

In their opening match of the Serie A season, Napoli drew with Parma 1-1. Although playing away, many tipped Napoli to get the three points. Juan Roman Riquelme put the Partenopei ahead in the 9th minute with a 30 yard free kick. Napoli dominated until halftime. Parma drew level in the 51st minute through Alberto Paloshci. Ezequiel Lavezzi missed the opportunity to put Napoli ahead in the 61st minute as he missed a penalty. What followed was a bore 30 minutes, no side making any mistakes and holding strong at the back.
