Not really an explot and not really useful either IMO. It won't work if you're a small club and if you don't offer your transfer listed players in part or full exchange that they may be interested in as well as unsettling players to lower the transfer fee then you're doing it wrong.

I'll be making sure Rodwell stays in my Everton squad. Right now he's fantastic in FM2010 (last 5 games getting 2-3 goals)-however, his wages are pretty painful to look at.
