Hey man. Solid tactic you got there. Using it for away games, and also made a slight tweak from your tactic into a 4-4-2 for home games, which I'm absolutely tearing **** up with. The base for it is your tactic, just made alterations to the formation and a few roles. You mind if I post it here? :)

Thanks man... Go ahead! Post what you want... ;)

Is this formation good for underdogs team? Do you change some things when you play away against bigger opponent? I would like to try this tactic but i'm sure I'm getting destroyed if I use it against the Big-6 in BPL lol

Has you can see in my post i play against chelsea in their home and draw 2-2 with hull. I don't change nothing from home or away games. I'm about to finish the first season and only have one defeat against blackburn.

Rola/Helly modified 4-4-2 16.2 great football

Using Rola's tactic as a base, I made a more attacking variant for home games, especially when you're the stronger team. It is a 4-4-2, with one of the CMs sacrificed into having a second striker at your disposal. This tactic requires your team to do a lot of running, so work rate and stamina are the most important prerequisites for your players when you employ this tactic. Be sure to look out for those stats when buying players.

Here is the formation:

Roles:

GK - Goalkeeper (Defend): You know what stats to look out for here. Your solid traditional keeper. (Lloris, De Gea, Khune etc)

FBs - Fullback (support/attack): This can vary with respect to your wingers, if your wingers traditionally like to cut inside, then fullback-attack can work well in synergy with that. Important stats to look out for are tackling, marking, crossing, acceleration, pace, positioning, off the ball. Good dribbling and passing can also be a plus, but not as important as the ones mentioned above. (Danny Rose, Hugo Mallo, Mario Gaspar, Allan Nyom, Mayke etc)

CBs - CD/BPD (Defend): Decided not to alter much from Rola's tactic here. Positioning, Strength, Tackling, Marking, Heading, Bravery, Concentration are just few stats you'd need to look out for in your cb. I also prefer my center-backs to be fairly quick (12+ acceleration, agility and pace). Decent passing again, is a plus. (Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Stones, Jedvaj, Klavan, Glik, Wimmer etc)

DM - DM (Defend): The Defensive midfielder will sit in front of your defence and is a vital cog in your formation. Tackling, Marking, Bravery, Positioning, Strength are important stats, coupled with atleast 12 passing. Pace is a huge plus. (Dier, Yacob, Nainggolan, Besic etc)

CM - Adv Playmaker (support): The main man pulling the strings in your midfield. Passing, Vision, First Touch, Technique, Stamina are all important stats. You could say that your team is built around him. (Eriksen, Pjanic, Modric, Kovacic etc)

Wingers - Winger (support): Your wide men will look to get the crosses in and at the same time get on the end of them to provide an extra man in the box as well as help out the fullbacks. Dribbling, Pace, Crossing, First Touch, Off the Ball, Passing, Stamina and Work Rate are the stats to look out for. No real preference as to preferred foot, both traditional wingers and those who cut inside work well with the tactic. (Lamela, Blaszczykowski, Willian, Tadic etc)

STR - Defensive Forward (support): This striker will drop deep, look to spread out a few passes as well as get into the box to make things happen and get your team important goals. Should be strong with decent hold up play, so stats to look out for would be strength, off the ball, first touch, passing, finishing, work rate, stamina. A fast striker is a huge huge bonus, as moving into the channels ahead of opposition CBs would be way easier if he had the pace to burn. (Kane, Morata, Cavani, Guidetti, Rooney, Deeney etc)

STL - Poacher (Attack): This is your Jamie Vardy. Constantly prepared to make runs off the defender's shoulder, looking to get behind and get himself through on goal. Really recommend a fast player here. Most important attribute for this role. Even players who are average at best in the first season but lightning quick such as Clinton N'Jie thrived for me in this role. Important stats are obviously pace, acceleration (16+), off the ball, finishing, composure, technique, first touch. (Vardy, Vietto, Heung-Min Son, Long, Bacca, Welbeck etc)

Here is the league table currently and a few notable results I achieved with the tactic.

Would you use this away from home against a lesser team?

Would you use this away if playing a smaller team?

You could give it a try. I think I used my tactic in every game in the Europa League group stages and I didn't concede a single goal in six matches. So yes it should work imo.

So I'm guessing you could switch to yours away if chasing the game, and vice versa if you're trying to see a game out?

That's right. A b2b will obviously work better in keeping the ball and adding sturdiness than a second striker will.
