I'm maybe one of the many portuguese (and FC Porto fans) that completly hate Cristiano Ronaldo..

It's like if someone touches him he will instantly fall down and complain that it's a foul and so on...

Messi it's that kind of player that can surprise any defense with a ball on he's feet... In this example size doens't matter at all...

Messi is the best by far...

its easier for messi to go down and he still doesnt go down as many times as ronny so i say messi im a united supporter aswell

ronaldo is better at freekicks
faster, stronger, more versatile, can use both feet properly
also how many goals does messi score from 20 yards or more?

know messi scores a lot of goals but cant beat 42 goals in 47 games.
 
We'll have a better idea this year with them both playing in the same league, but i still reckon messi is a better player!
 
Messi without a doubt. Sure I reckon Ronaldos a good player but I always thought he was over-rated. Plus his only 22 years old, I can only imagine him getting better and better.

It will be good seeing them playing each other this year ... right now Messi is better
 
I really get annoyed when people say Ronaldo is a good player;lets state the facts what even Fergie knows but is scared to admit it
-1-.He will not work for the team
-2-.He goes down like a one legged man doing the hokey-cokey
-3-.He goes hiding in big games and can only perform against weaker teams.
-4-.He spends more time in the nightclubs and crashing his car than in training
-5-.He'll dive more than the Olympic team

trying to argue ronaldo is not good a hopeless task.

1. his work rate is not the best but better than people say and his impressive goalscoring record more than makes up for it.
2. being a diver does not mean you are not good. drogba is a diver and good. gerrard is a diver and good.
3. a load of rubbish. performance against arsenal in cl semis, goals he has scored against the topp 4 clubs and goal in 2007\2008 champo league final. last season he was also there for us when we needed him. aston villa. tottenham.
4. even if this was true (it's not) it does not mean he is not a good player.
5. see point 3

it really annoys me when idiots like you try to claim ronaldo is not good when he blatantly is.

for the record i concede that messi is undoubtedly the better player. that could obviously change in the future.

This post is so funny, seeing people saying Messi needs to come to Premiership as its the best etc & since then, Ronaldo has gone to Spain & the market has gone mad !!

Christiano Allenelka believes that thers isnt too much difference between Lionel Messi & C.Ronaldo, yet Messi is my choice.
 
I don't believe in the title "Best Player in the world", at the end of the day what about the defenders and goalkeepers? Best in every position however is a different matter. However even as a Manchester United fan I've got to say Messi does edge it a bit but I'd prefer to have a Cristiano Ronaldo that didn't dive so much :P They're both really talented...

But I agree that Cristiano Ronaldo has got skills that Messi could only dream of... Don't get me wrong, Messi has got the ball control of a god on the pitch but ronaldos got the skillz
 
ronaldo has got everything in his game it gotta be ronaldo skill power finishing passin pace stength , he is a complete player messi still needs to make him self in to a allround player and i think it will come in years to come but just not yet

he isnt a ariel presence and never will be he dosent get back and defend like ronaldo does when he is needed and doesnt have the tactical awerness that ronaldo does just yet , its only my opinion like lol
