SAFC News can infact confirm that manager Steve Bruce has quit due to family issues, it is believed that after taking the Sunderland jobm, Bruce a long time Newcastle fan has had rifts with his family over taking the job which has caused various rows and even resulting in a case of Domestic Violence being reported. We can also confirm that we do have a shortlist of managers and are planning on bringing the right man in, regardless of stature or cost.
The Shortlist :
Ian Hollowoy
Ciaran Race
Martin O’Neill
Rafa Benitez

Whilst We await conformation on Sunderlands new manager lets have a more in depth look at the club itself. Noteably the Biggest competition won by Sunderland was a Terrific 1-0 Victory of then English Giants leeds in 1973. Since then there recent history has been a bit hit and miss. Sunderland returned to the Premier League as First Division champions in 1999 with a then-record 105 points. Two consecutive seventh place finishes in the Premier League were followed by two less successful seasons, and they were relegated to the second-tier with a then-record low 19 points in 2003. FormerIreland manager Mick McCarthy took over at the club, and, in 2005, he took Sunderland up as champions for the third time in less than ten years. However, the club's stay in the top flight was short-lived; as Sunderland were once again relegated, this time with a new record-low total of 15 points. McCarthy left the club in mid-season, and he was replaced temporarily by former Sunderland player Kevin Ball. The record-low fifteen-point performance was surpassed in the 2007–08 seasonby Derby County, who finished on eleven points.
Following the club's relegation, it was taken over by the Irish Drumaville Consortium, headed by ex-player Niall Quinn, who appointed former Manchester United captain Roy Keane as the new manager. Under Keane, the club rose steadily up the table with an unbeaten run of 17 games to win promotion to the Premier League, and were named winners of the Championship after beating Luton Town 5–0 at Kenilworth Road on 6 May 2007. The club's form in the 2007–08 season was better than during their last season in the Premier League, as they finished 15th with 39 points. Following an inconsistent start to the 2008–09 season Keane resigned, to be replaced by coach Ricky Sbragia, initially as caretaker manager though his position was later made permanent. After keeping Sunderland in the Premier League, Sbragia stepped down from his managerial post.Steve Bruce was then announced as the new Sunderland manager on 3 June, signing a three-year contract. Sunderland completed the signing of Ghana international Asamoah Gyan in August 2010 for a fee around £13 million, becoming their new record transfer fee.

Now Lets See what the new manager will have to work with :

View attachment 134315
Goalkeepers :
Craig Gordon, Record signing before Asamoah Gyan arrived, alot of potential and does play well but seems to be a confidence player, one bad game could set him off.

Simon Mignolet, the new lad will have to start many games this season due to Gordons Injury, looks good but a bit shakey, still young and will improve

Defenders:
View attachment 134317 View attachment 134316

Phil Bardsley, a good background coming from Man Utd’s youth system, no nonsense strong quick defender, could be a big part of a European push.
Kieran Richardson, now transformed into a good attacking left back, great potential but never really had a position, hopefully a good stint could see him unlock his potential
Michael Turner, a throwback to traditional defending, big strong lad that loves a tackle and great in the air, could miss out on games against the likes of arsenal with pacey strikers.
John Mensah, on loan this season, when hes fit hes a top defender, but keeping him fit will be a big issue, how much he features is all upto him.
Marcos Angeleri, Not much is known about the lad but you don’t win 3 full caps for argentina without having something about you, but saying that Jonas from Newcastle played at the world cup.
Nedum Onouha, Great defender, naturally athletic and he can time a tackle well, will be looking to keep hold of him after the loan spell is over.
Titus Bramble, Some terrible mistakes early on in his career but seems to have ironed these mistakes out and a great coup at £1 million.
Anton Ferdinand, Seems to be the new Bramble, some top class defending then a lapse in concentration ruins his game, if the lad can get focused he can do well.

Midfielders :
View attachment 134320 View attachment 134319
Lee Cattermole, Brilliant player for any team to have but one youd hate to play against, loves a tackle and if he can time the right and not get sent off as much he could do well.
Jordan Henderson , Future England Star, the lad loves playing the game and is a lifelong supporter and will give absolutely Everything.
Bolo Zenden, Great lad to have in the squad, infact hes club captain, his experience and technique will do well to help some of the younger lads in the Locker Room
Steed Malbranque, Great dribbling ability but seems a bit small for the premier league but does give it all and has the potential to change and control a game.
Cristian Riveros, Defensive minded midfielder who can also score a goal as he showed in the world cup, gives everything and will be hoping to test himself.
Jack colback, Young midfielder with alot of ambition, could grow into a first team regular
Elmohamody, Pacey, tricky and fast, will do well on either wing and will excite the fans.

Forwards :
View attachment 134318 View attachment 134322

Asamoah Gyan, Great striker, showed what he has at the world cup, surprisingly strong, great eye for goal, tricky and pacey.
Darren Bent, Great goalscorer, single handidly kept us up with his goals last year.
Frazier Campbell, Young striker who was in prolific form in preaseason but will miss most of this season with injury
Danny Welbeck, Young England starlet on loan from United, looking to impress Sir Alex Ferguson More than anything.

Update....
New Manager announced, lets have a look at how things unfolded.
Ian Holloway: “i love blackpool too much to leave, there a brilliant club and i want to do my very best here and sorry but my heart wouldn’t be in the job at sunderland”
Martin O’Neill “ Its too early for me to get back into football, especially after what happened at aston villa i don’t wanna deal with chairmen and men in suits who don’t know the game”
Rafa Benitez “ i aah want to ahh turn sunderland into aaa new Spanish giant, but theres a problem with them being an English club and ahh they cant play in spain”

After these 3 statements theres only one man left on the cards Ciaran Race. Now his appointment may be a shock to some fans but not to the sunderland board. The Lifelong Fan had been a coach within the youth system, after a short playing carrer which was ended due to a horrific leg break the young lad just 16 turned to coaching and had his badges within a few years, seen as a tactician and man manager the board are hopping the new young manager can bring the black cats up the table, with the top training facilities, good youth system and Brilliant Stadium everything is in place for a climb up the table.

Start of the Season Stutters

View attachment 134456

With the new signings and overall buzz around the stadium fans and players alike are feeling optimistic about a new premier league season. This year the sunderland players are all aiming for a top half and even a push for a european spot in the league table along with a good cup run. However this wasnt too be as August was a harsh month.

View attachment 134454
Tottenham 3-1 Sunderland
Tottenham showed why there becoming a dominant force in english and european football with a convincing win over Races Side. With Roux giving us a lead within 5 minutes after grabbing himself a debut goal it seemed a upset was on the cards but it didnt take too long for Tottenhams class to shine through. Crouch grabbing a double and a glince Of Titus Brambles old self shining through as he scored an own goal

View attachment 134452
Sunderland 3-2 Wolves
What was expected to be an easy match turned out to be a bit of a struggle as wolves fought hard to twice draw level before sunderland over powered and got the winner. Elmohamady grabbed an early goal on 11 minutes which was soon chalked off as Ebanks Blake equalised. Roux scored in his second consecutive game on 69 minutes to give us the lead. Then after 86 minutes wolves equalised through young Mancienne, sending sunderland fans and manager into a fit of rage, Sunderland then scored a 90th minute winner as Mensah towered above everyone as a corner was whipped in to score the winner.

View attachment 134453
Sunderland 3-0 Millwall ( League Cup)
An Easy run of the mill victory as an own goal from millwall was followed by a first goal for N'Zogbia and another for Elmohamady.

View attachment 134455
Liverpool 4-1 Sunderland
Once again an early lead from Roux is wasted, after a minute i thought we would go on to destroy a liverpool team in turmoil but it didnt last long. Mr Liverpool Steven Gerrard equalised after 3 minutes. Joe Cole then gave liverpoool the lead after 11 minutes and after 19 Turner scored an own goal, Lucas finished off the victory with a 46th minute goal.

View attachment 134451
A Great month for Roux as he claims the player of the month accolade, scoring in all three league matches.

Sunderland 3-1 Blackburn
Great result as we ran out clear and deserved winners, these are the games that are of huge importance to us, beating the teams around us is what we need to do. Henderson got us off to a flyer after 8 minutes and this time we not only held on but added to it as Bent scored, Blackburn clawed one back but it was nothing but a consolation as Gyan scored the finisher.

View attachment 134606
Chelsea 2-0 Sunderland
Utterly disappointed with this result, we held on for so long but were finally broke down after 84 minutes by a brilliant Malouda goal. Lampard then sealed the game after 92 minutes from a long range scorcer, even though we lost im happy with the performance the lads put in.

View attachment 134610
Sunderland 4-0 Carlisle ( League Cup)
An easy predictable victory in all honesty, still fielding a near full strength squad to keep the lads fit and competitive for a place in the team. Another goal for Roux as he started the rout, unlikely goals from Cattermole and Turner came next followed by a Goal for Capmbell on his return from injury.

View attachment 134613
Man Utd 4-1 Sunderland
From the outset we weren’t gonna win this, our defence was diabolical we were 2 goals down after just 4 minutes from a prolific wayne rooney, things started too look up as Bramble scored from the corner on the 7th minute but the joy was cut short as Turner got sent off after just ten minutes. Rooney grabbed his hatrick on the 39th minute and N’Zogbia scored an owl goal to round off a terrible performance

View attachment 134612
Sunderland 2-2 West Brom
Coming into the next run of fixtures i seen us picking up some big points and results but it just wasn’t to be. Brunt gave West Brom the lead after 7 minutes with a whipping shot, Nolan Roux continued his rich form as he scored the equaliser on the 57th minute. Nedum Onouha must have thought that he grabbed the winner with his first goal on the 80th minute but it wasn’t to be as Ishmail Miller scored on the 87th minute to steal a point.

View attachment 134605
Sunderland 0-0 West Ham
A bore draw which will not be remembered by many people with it being nothing but a stalemate, but still a points better than nothing.

View attachment 134607
Sunderland 3-1 Blackpool
It was a showing of great strength by sunderlands midfield who were helped out when Blackpools key playmaker Adam got sent off after just 5 minutes from there on out Sunderland Dominated. Goals from Henderson, Colback and Nzogbia grabbed a crucial win for Sunderland today. Bacham scored a late consolation goal for Blackpool but thats all it was.

View attachment 134609
Sunderland 3-0 Portsmouth ( League Cup 4th Round)
Cristian Riveros and Jordan Henderson both scored from midfield to secure and control the game for Races side as there dominant league cup run continues, Darren Bent also got on the scoresheet today.

Sunderland 3-3 Birmingham
What a start to this game, Bent scores after just 3 minutes to set up an exciting match, Benitez then equalised for Birmingham then Roux added to the excitement after 14 minutes by bagging himself yet another goal to give us a one goal lead. Jordan Henderson then gave us a 2 goal lead on the 23rd minute.McFadden then got one back just before half time to leave the score at 3-2 at half time, after a number of terrible misses for both sides, Birmingham finished an excellent come back with a goal from Craig Gardner on the 73rd minute.

ill follow mate, dont know if signing n zogbia for 11 million was a good choice being so low on transfer funds but hopefully he does well. ^^)

November/ December

View attachment 135201
Arsenal 6-2 Sunderland
We were played off the pitch in this game in every way possible, the fact that Arsenal had 24 shots and just 6 goals is a small bit of silver lining for Craig Gordon. Van Persie was brilliant with 4 goals.
View attachment 135203View attachment 135202
Sunderland 2-1 Newcastle
What a way to bounce back, undoubtly the biggest match of the year and we controlled the match from start to finish!! I was honoured to lead the lads out today. Lee Cattermole showed his commitment and love for the club as he scored the opener after five minutes, Lovenkrands scored a penalty on the ninth minute then after numerous chances sunderland went back in front thanks to a Nolan Roux header on the 67th minute.
View attachment 135204
Sunderland 1-0 Everton
What a performance today as we fought hard against a very hard Everton side which is what you expect from David Moyes’s lads but a great goal from Substitute Danny Welbeck secured all three points.
View attachment 135205
Sunderland 2-0 Bolton
The scorline doesn’t reflect how the game went, it should have easily been 6 or 7 up but due to lacklustre finishing it ended up just being 2, the goals coming from Titus Bramble and Welbeck scored his second in as many games as he came off the from the bench yet again.
View attachment 135206
Sunderland 1-1 Fulham
After a three runs on the trot i thought that this would be another easy game but it wasn’t to be, Even though Elmo gave us an early lead on the 9th minute it was cancelled out by an absolute scorcher from Dembelle as he dribbled from inside his own half then unleashed a fierce shot from 25 yards out.
View attachment 135207
Sunderland 0-2 Bolton ( League Cup Quarter Final)
What a shock, after dominating them in the league i was confident of an easy win which is maybe why we lost, the lads didn’t look as concentrated or as hungry as the Bolton boys which is why they won.
View attachment 135208
Sunderland 3-2 Man City
This was honestly a game of one half, mainly the last 20 minutes of the first half. Adebayor gave man city the lead after 25 minutes, it was soo cut shoirt after N’Zogbia scored on the 33rd minute, Lescott then scored on the 37th to restore the lead and in the 3rd minute of extra time Riveros scored an equaliser. The winner came from an absolutely smashing goal from Charles N’Zogbia on the 67th minute to win the game.
View attachment 135209
Wigan 1-0 Sunderland
I was majorly disappointed after such a strong showing against man city we crumbled today against a lesser team, we did have more shots but we never looked like scoring, the strikers just were not up for it today. Caldwell put wigan infront in the 4th minute of extra time in the first half with a bullet header from a corner.
View attachment 135210
Aston Villa 0-0 Sunderland
The two sides fought hard with not many shots being hit by either side. The most noteable moments were all negative as Richard Dunne got sent off then in a horror 3 minutes both titus Bramble and Michael Turner got sent off. We were lucky to come away with the draw today.
View attachment 135211
Sunderland 4-0 Stoke
What a result, an absolutely cracking start as Bent scored in the first minute after a quick move from the kick off. Winger Charles N’Zogbia then scored an absolutely cracking effort on the 16th minute. Pascal Feindundo then scored in the second half from the penalty spot on the 51st minute. Big centre back John Mensah then scored from the corner on the 73rd minute with a driven header.
View attachment 135212
Tottenham 3-1 Sunderland
Jermain Defoe destroyed us today with a brilliant hatrick, he and Tottenham exploited some key weaknesses in our squad and used there blistering pace to exploit our slow centre backs.

Nice start mate fonts maybe a bit too big but good start none the less. KIU.

Need some help lads, im at the start of my 3rd season, and yano doing my updates to catch up, how do i find the league roundup for previous seasons, with the best buy etc?

Rest of Season

A relatively quite transfer window, the board injected more funds into the club and gave me a further 11 million to spend which was spent on bringing the one player in who was Alexis Sanchez, the tricky winger will bring a touch of class and some much needed flair.
View attachment 136123

View attachment 136124
Wolves 2-0 Sunderland
What a terrible show against wolves as we couldn’t hit a barnyard door. With out 17 shots to their 5 it was a shock that we lost, Our strikers really need to work on their finishing. Tricky winger matt Jarvis then scored the first goal for wolves after a good run, Milijas then scored a cracking long range effort to tie up thegame.

View attachment 136125
Sunderland 3-2 Liverpool
A vintage first half performance from us ensured that we would win this game. Roux scored a smart finish after ten minutes to give us the lead, Turner then added to this lead with a header after just 14 minutes to put us 2-0 up and finally Darren Bent scored what would be the winner on the 30th minute after some good team play. Steven Gerrard clawed one back after 51 minutes to give them up but two red cards within 3 minutes killed off any hopes of a comebackas ferndando baiano got a straight red card which was soon followed by a second yellow for Babel.Liverpool then clawed another back on the 93rd minute but it was nothing more than a consolation goal.

View attachment 136126View attachment 136127
Sunderland 3-3 Blackburn
Not a great start, but some great spirit by the lads today. El Hadji Diouf scored a first half double on the 12th and 24th minute to give Blackburn a 2-0 lead. Darren Bent then clawed one back on the 28th minute to start our comeback. Second half substitute Frazier Campbell then scored a double as he scored from the spot on the 61st minute after winning the penalty himself, he then scored on the 78th minute with a smart finish which seemed like the winner. But iot wasn’t to be as steve nzonzi then scored for as Blackburn then equalised to draw the game.

View attachment 136128
Chelsea 2-0 Sunderland
We were never gonna win this game from the first minute whenever Anelka scored after just 30 seconds and our teams morale slumped. Ramires then scored the second which was also the killer as Sthey ran out the game comfortable winners.

View attachment 136130
Sunderland 2-0 Crystal Palace (FA Cup 4th Round)
An easy game as Charles Nzogbia got himself a double to win the game and grab himself another man of the match performance.

View attachment 136131
Sunderland 2-3 West Brom
After Darren Bent gave us the lead on 10 minute i thought we were going to run away with this game but it wasn’t to be as Tchoyi gave west brom a chance back into the game with the equaliser. They then scored in extra time in the first half to give themselves a lead from Odemwengie. Bent then again equalised on the 71st minute and i thought this could give us a push forward. Odemwengie then cut that short and scored on the 80th minute.

[/ATTACH]
Sunderland 2-1 Man Utd
With us being winless in three i was not looking forward to this game and it didn’t get better as Michael Carrick gave Fergusons men the lead from the penalty spot on 10 minutes. But the spirit we showed was brilliant as Roux scored on the 21st minute, the lad then scored the second in the 57th minute to give us a brilliant win.

View attachment 136133
Sunderland 2-1 West Ham
After the win against Man Utd we pushed on here today and got a vital win as Roux scored in the first minute. Carlton cole then scored on the 15th minute to equalise but we pushed forward and Darren Bent scored just after the break on the 46th minute.

View attachment 136134
Sunderland 2-0 Peterborough ( FA Cup 5th Round)
A routine win today that let us progress in the cup with goals from both Richardson and Bent both getting on the scoresheet.

View attachment 136150
Sunderland 1-2 Blackpool
Once again we score an early goal as Roux scored on the 4th minute to give us the lead which didn’t last long as Blackpool equalised on the 9th minute with a penalty. Blackpool then scored the winner on the 51st minute from Christian Keller

View attachment 136135
Sunderland 3-1 Birmingham
Birmingham took the lead with a goal from beausejour on the 27th minute and it looked like we were on our way to a second consecutive loss but the lads showed great spirit as Roux equalised on the 36th minute. Then 2 goals within 5 minutes in the second half gave us the win, Richardson scored on the 67th minute and Darren Bent completed the scoring on the 72nd minute.

View attachment 136136
Sunderland 2-2 Tottenham ( FA Cup 6th Round)
We dominated this game and to be honest Tottenham were lucky to get away with a draw today, Van der Vaart did give them the lead after fifteen minutes. Bent then scored yet again on the 51st minute but it didn’t last long as Crouch scored on the 53rd minute. Calmpbell then scored on the 67th minuteto set up a replay.

View attachment 136137
Sunderland 5-1 Arsenal
What a victory today, i don’t know what the lads did differently but they played out of their skins, Darren Bent scored 5 goals today to secure the match ball and performance of the year. But there were of course two negative points as not only Lee Cattermole got sent off on the 53rd minute but also John Mensah on the 90th.

View attachment 136138
Tottenham 2-1 Sunderland ( FA Cup 6th Round Replay)
This game was a lot more even with Tottenham grabbing the victory, Defoe gave them the lead on the 21st minute. Roux then equalised on the 40th minute but was quickly pinned back as defoe then scored again on the 42nd minute.

View attachment 136149
Sunderland 0-1 Everton
A boring match with neither side dominating or looking like they were going to take the lead but Everton Stole the points with a goal from a corner on the 76th minute.

View attachment 136139
Sunderland 5-1 Bolton
Charles Nzogbia gave us the lead today just after nine minutes with a smashing left foot finish. Roux then doubled the lead on the 14th minute. Darren Bent added to the lead on the 49th minute. Gary Cahill then scored from a corner on the 52nd minute. Darren Bent then grabbed himself a hatrick as he scored again on the 58th and 90th minute.

View attachment 136140
Sunderland 1-0 Newcastle
A great league double, this game wasn’t as interesting as there wasn’t much goalmouth action and more yellow cards than shots on target showed this was more of a derby than the last match between the two. Although we did finally get the winner as Gyan scored on the 89th minute with a brilliant finish.

View attachment 136141
Sunderland 2-0 Fulham
Goals from Bent and Nzogbia secured the third win in a row here to put together a good push for European football.

View attachment 136145
Man City 3-0 Sunderland
We came crashing back to earth today as City showed there superiority and hammered us with Tevez being man of the match as he grabbed a double after nigel dejong gave them the lead.

View attachment 136146
Sunderland 4-4 Aston villa
Argueably one of the matches of the season for neutrals but from our point of view we threw away vital points today we twice threw a lead away as Villa fought hard to get the point for the draw. Bent was man of the match with yet another Hatrick and even missed a penalty today.

View attachment 136148
Stoke 6-1 Sunderland
Terrible is the only words i can use for today. Our defence was just despicable, utterly disappointed.

View attachment 136147
Sunderland 3-3 Wigan
Bent, Nzogbia and Mensah gave us a 3-2 lead against wigan and it seemed we were going to run out winners but Rodallega scored on the 79th minute to draw the game as the season ends.

A Respectable finish of 8th in the table allowing us to push forward next year and hopefully reach a top 6 finish.

Transfers In
Oh god im jazzing in my pants with these players. First of all the board gave me 53 million for a title challenge so with such a large amount some great players were bound to come in.

View attachment 136760
Ivan Rakitic £2.7 million from man city. Im delighted with this, i see this as a brilliant deal and i am genuinely delighted with the lad. Technically gifted and hard working, will give us a much needed touch of class in the centre of midfield.

View attachment 136761
Yaya Sanogo £12 million from Auxerre. What another deal, the lad is a future star and i cant wait too see him develop.

View attachment 136762
Babacar £24 million, seemed a bit steep but after consulting with other Managers i was persuaded and forked over the money, great finisher and so young.

View attachment 136763
Phil Jones £15 million, with my defence needing some much needed rebuffing i brought in the future England star for a big price tag but age is but a number and im confident in the lads ability.

View attachment 136764
Stevan Jovetic £4.9 million, the lads agent brought his availability to his attention and after having previous bids for him reject at just under £5 million this is a steal, great on the ball and will be a handful for other defenders.

View attachment 136765
Joe Mattock Loan Fee £350k. Great capture, will provide great cover and might even start, and the years loan will allow me t have a good look at the lad.

View attachment 136766
Jordan Spence £10.5 million, what a capture, this lad is absolutely brilliant and just 22, a sure starter alongside Burdisso.

Outs

View attachment 136767
Ryan Babel £4.1 million, the lad was good on field but off field he was a ****. Glad to see the back of him.

View attachment 136768
Llorente £6.5 million this lad was a flop, after scoring a 30 yard lob on his debut he went on to medicoracy.

Matthew Kilgallon and Hleb both left for £1 million to leeds and Kaiserslautern respectively.

Sunderland 1-0 Man Utd ( Community Sheild)
This was the season opener as per usual. After defeating United on the final day of last season Sir Alex Ferguson felt a bit bitter and even before the match was speaking harshly of myself. New boy Jordan Spence got the winner in the end. Carcela swung a dangerous looking corner in and Spence got up well infront of Evra and headed home.
Side Note this was my 100th game in charge, within these 100 games i have Won the Premier League, FA Cup and Community Sheild.

Sunderland 4-0 Newcastle
GET IN!!! What a way to kick off the season. Babacar the beast scored within 2 minutes after some brilliant wing play from alexis sanchez. After fourteen minutes Cattermole swung in a dangerous corner and like there last match Sunderlands players looked more agreesive and Onouha headed in at the back post. Baba the beast then scored again on the 22nd minute after some great determination and skill from partner Yaya Sanogo. Mehdi Carcela then scored the 4th goal with an absolutely smashing volley inside the box.

Sunderland 2-0 West brom
The third goal from a corner already this season as Cattermole whipped a ball into the back post were onouha headed across goal and was bet by a late arriving Jordan Spence who towered above everyone to reach the second ball and head in. Substitute Darren Bent then scored the killer goal as he came off the bench and profited from an N’Zogbia goal.

Champions League Draw
First time since the reformation of the competition and we have drawn the hardest group of the year. We entered as a 4th seeded team and were always doomed for a hard group.
Spanish Giants Barcelona who many will expect to be the winners.
Benfica the portugese giants are still a good squad.
CSKA Moscow who are a tough side and have quality players such as Honda in the side.

Sunderland 6-2 Wigan
It took 25 minutes for this game to get into flow but once it did this game was an absolute cracker.Bent scored on the 25th minute. Then Boselli scored an absolute cracker on the 28th minute.Bent then scored again on the 30th minute. Once again Boselli scored a cracking effort on the 43rd minute. Bent completed his hatrick in the second minute of extra time at the end of the first half. Joe Mattock then scored the best goal ive seen in my reign as manager with an absolute scorcher from 25 yards. Babacar then came of the bench to score a good finish on the 59th minute. Young team mate Sanogo then scored on the 90th minute with a smart low finish.

Sunderland 0-2 Chelsea
Once again they defeat us, nommatter how well were doing they always seem to beat us. Things didn’t go well today. Phil Jones came off after 21 minutes due to injury. Then Dzeko scored an absolutely cracking goal. Yaya Sanogo came on for Roux who then had to be replaced due to injury. Darren Bent then scored on the 69th minute with a quick finish. I thought we could go on and win but a Chelsea breakaway ended up in a Zhirkov
Goal.

Sunderland 5-2 Arsenal
We were on fire today, Nolan Roux and Babacar played brilliantly well together. Roux scored within 1 minute of the second half due to some good work by babacar. Babacar then grabbed himself a goal with a touch of class as he found space in the box and passed his shot into the bottom corner. Rakitic then got sent off after stoping an arsenal break at the edge of the centre circle as he was the last man back. With a resfhuffle then happening it seen the entrance of Darren bent playing upfront on his own. Arsenal started a late comeback as vanpersie scored on the 81st minute with a cracking effort. Substitute Bent then scored to restore our 2 goal lead on the 84th minute. Vanpersie poped up again on the 88th minute to score with a cracking effort from the edge of the area to make a nervous last few minutes. But sunderland hit back with a cracking counter attack as mingolets long clearance found Sanchez who crossed for bent, Bent met the ball with his head it then hit off the post and rebounded of Alumnias head and rolled in. Bent then added his second on the 4th minute of extra time as he scored the rebound of his own effort.

Sunderland 5-0 Leeds ( League Cup 3rd Round)
A very Routine victory with Bent yet again scoring with a lovely strike from the edge of the box into the bottom corner. Henderson grabbed himself a goal with a well placed shot on the first minute of extra time in the first half. Richardsons long through ball then found bent who promptly sloted the ball home. Burdisso then grabbed his first goal of the season as he headed in Richardsons freekick. Stevan Jovetic then grabbed his first goal for the club after a great individual effort.

Sunderland 6 -2 Birmingham
Started of well with Baba looking dangerous from the kick off with runs into the oppositions box. He then hit a shot inside the box which struck the post, hit Foster on the back of the head and went in for an owl goal. What a goal from Darren Bent, Sanchez’s long ball found bent whos first touch brilliantly took him away from scott Dann, he then advanced to the edge of the area were foster started to come out then finished with a sublime Lob, well in lad. Bent asked a second goal as he was played through and finished smartly. Bent then turned provider for Babacar as he played a ball along the box for Babacar to slide in and finished easily. Carcela then ran down the wing and swung a dangerous looking ball in for Babacar who headed in well. Bousejor then scored for Birmingham after the ball bobbled around the box.Birmingham then scored another goal from the corner to make it 5-2. Roux then profited from some good work by Baba as Babacars knocked on header found roux who finished well.

Sunderland 3-3 Barcelona
What an absolutely cracking result! We had the better chances and we took the chances when we had them. The first half was a well fought competition in midfield and after our tem talk the lads went out in the second half hungry for the win. What a Start, after just 3 minutes a brilliant through ball from Cattermole found Babacar in the box who calmly tucked the ball away in the far corner. We had loads of chances to score but didn’t and we regretted it as Pique scored from the corner.Messi then scored for Barcelona, and not in typical fashion, no hint of a curved shot or a long dribble but it was a scramble in the box. We Pegged them back Immediatly as Substitute Rouxs ball along the box found N’Zogbia. We then Grabbed the third goal as some great work from Babacar done well to get to the edge of the box draw Valdes out and pass to Bent for a tap in. Messi then done well to find villa free in the box for the equaliser.

Sunderland 4-2 Man Utd
Babacar once again with some great work in the box with some great feetwork, he then played the ball back to Cattermole who finished well with a powerfull shot. Celebrations didn’t last long as Carcela had to come off with an injury on the 14th minute which may be serious. Due to an error made my the assistant on the teamsheet Pyatov had ended up in nets instead of Mignolet or Gordon and this was costly as Carricks corner flew straight into the back post untouched for an equaliser. Gordon who then came on made his own howler as he fumbled Andersons long range freekick. Sanogo scored on his return as a through ball intended for Babacar was cut out but only fell too the feet of Sanogo who drove it home. What a goal!!! Sanogo and babacar played a short 1-2 and sanogo blasted the ball into the top corner from 30 yards out. Oh God what another great goal, with United pushing forward rakitic Cleared to find substitute Jovetic down the left wing, O’Shea slid in but was easily passed then Jovetic brilliantly lobed the Keeper to make it 4-2 and kill off the game.

Sunderland 3-1 Everton
What a comeback, a one man performance basically, at half time we were one goal down due to Bratu scoring for everton, i made the changes brough on Roux changed the formation to a 2 man backline 4 man midfield and 3 forwards. Roux scored on the 67th minute with an individual effort as he banged the goal in. He then benefited from a Sanchez cross and he headed in at the front post. On the 91st minute we were given a penalty and it would only be Roux to step up and take it.

Sunderland 5-3 CSKA Moscow
What an absolute match, even though i was involved i absolutely loved this match.Babacar started off the scoring.Doumbia then scored a first half double to give the Russians the lead. Sanchez then got his first of the season as he scored.Burdisso scored a terrible own goal to restore moscows lead and was promptly dragged off at half time, along with Sanogo and Mattock. After half time Bent scored straight away to level the game. Babacar then gave us the lead and the game was rapped up after rakitic scored.

Sunderland 1-0 Blackburn
Today was a really boring game and to be honesdt we didn’t look like we really wanted it the lads just did not look sharp however a bit of magic from Babacar allowed him time and space to find N’Zogbia at the back stick who scored what would be the winner.

Sunderland 3-3 Man City (7-6 Penalties) ( League Cup 4th Round)
What a match today. Adebayor got Man City flying and it started the scoring. After Adebayors goal on the 15th minute We went on the attack and a flick on from Babacar found N’Zogbia who hammered home his volley into the top corner.Ballotelli then scored on the 64th minute as the ball was bundled in. Then just 3 minutes after coming on Sanogo scored a well placed finish. Into extra time and after 4 minutes Sanogo scored again but celebrations didn’t last long with all 3 subsitiutions made Sanchez had to come off leaving us with ten men. And just ten minutes later Balotelli had the chance to equalise and he oblidged and finished well. Jordan Spence scored the winning penalty as he blasted it into the corner, surprisingly Kolorov missed his and we went through to the next round.

Sunderland 2-0 Burnley
Sunderland with a few changes due to some of the lads being tired from the man city game and it was one of the players who were brought in that scored. Hendersons corner fell to colback who played it back to Henderson who then crossed it in for Bramble who scored. The Second came from a Jovetic cross as he swung it in and Henderson rolled the ball in basically on the line.

Sunderland 1-1 CSKA
In the away leg we really didn’t play as well as we had in the first game at home. Doumbia scored for CSKA to give them the lead then they got a man sent off and we sent on another striker in roux. Babacar turned provider and found roux who equalised. Though we didn’t push on and the game ended as a draw. Leaving us in 2nd in the table.

Sunderland 2-0 Wolves
Charles Nzogbia finally broke a tough wolves side today as he scored from the edge of the area with a cool finish into the bottom corner going for placement over power. Babacar also scored just before half time after a scramble in the box. Our run in the league continues.

Sunderland 1-0 Ipswich
It seems our performances have dipped as of late, we did have 21 shots and only one goal, we don’t seem like were on top form maybe the run of fixtures are whats slowing the lads down.

Sunderland 3-1 Stoke
Better than our last match as we dominated all areas today. Burdisso scored on the 7th minute with a towering header which fans will be used to seing from last season. Whelan then equalised on the 57th minute with a brilliantly struck shot which was going to be goal of the match until Rakitic stepped up, on the 78th minute Rakitic scored a scorching 25 yard curling shot which flew into the top corner. He was then outdone by Babacar on the 93rd minute as the young striker scored a curling shot from the edge of the area which flew into the top corner.

Sunderland 2-0 Benfica
Great result sees us in second in the table and four points infront of Benfica. Sanogo and bent combined with a nice one two leaving sanogo in the box to fire the ball into the top corner. Bent then wrapped the game up on the 88th minute with a nice finish within the box. This has also lead us to qualifying for the knockout stage.

Sunderland 1-0 Tottenham
Ive always struggled against Tottenham and this match wasn’t anything different as both sides fought well and looked really dangerous but it took a substitute too change the game as Roux came on for Bent and a one two with Sanogo released the Frenchman and he took it past gomes and fired it into the net.

Sunderland 5-0 Aston Villa
Carcela got the scoring going as Roux lead the break who played it onto Bent and his through ball found Carcela who slammed the ball home inside the box. Roux then scored the next two goals as firstly he beat the offside trap to latch onto a through ball and finish well, his second was more of an individual ball as he skint Cuellar and left the defender on his back then smashed the ball in.Nzogbia then swung a freekick in which was met by Onouha on the volley.Carcela then ran down the wing and crossed it in for Rakitic who squeezed it in at the near post.

Sunderland 3-2 Barcelona
It Took just 20 seconds for us to score at Nou camp. Straight from the kickoff roux and sanchez played a one two out on the right wing which found Roux in space in the box and he smashed it home at the near post.Oh God what a second goal, a throw into the box was knocked down by sanogo and Sanchez smashed home a cracking left foot volley. Barcelona weren’t to be outshone as they went and scored as Gervinho ran down the right side and his cross managed to reach Cazola at the back stick. Valdes impressed as he not only saved a long range effort from sanogo but also a one on one from roux, these would be crucial. After a stupid Joe Mattock got sent off Barcelona equalised as Gervinho scored as Barcelona took advantage of the one man advantage. Sunderland then scored again on the 90th minute as onouha whipped a lovely ball in and Sanogo broke the offside trap and headed home. This goal stuck us top of the group by a one goal difference.

Sunderland 5-1 Bolton
Once again since returning from injury Carcela has been absolutely brilliant, the lad once again raced down the left wing played a ball in along the 6 yard box and Bent would have found it harder to miss to be honest.Carcela then scored himself 3 minutes later on the 7th minute, Bents shot rebounded and Carcela tucked it in from the wide left position.Bent then grabbed his second of the game as some good play by rakitic found him free and he finished from the edge of the area. Taylor grabbed one back after angeleri gave away a penalty. Bent grabbed himself a hatrick as he scored from the penalty spot. He then grabbed a fourth as Cattermole won the ball back on the halfway line and played Bent through who finished well.

Sunderland 1-3 Man City
Lee Cattermole had to come off injured after just 15 minutes which was a big blow as the lad is an important team member. Not long after he came off City scored as some great team play found Silva in the box who hammered home. We equalised soon after as Kompany who was playing against his former club ran onto Rouxs nock on and rounded Hart to score. Silva then grabbed a second which was followed by a third for Lescott to break our unbeaten run and send the manager into a rant at the players.

Sunderland 2-0 Aston Villa ( League Cup Quarter Final)
We couldn’t take the lead until the 54th minute as Sanchez ran down the right wing and crossed it into the box were sanogo took a touch past the defender and passed the ball into the far corner. Roux wasn’t to be out done as on the 79th minute he latched onto Kompanys pass and curled the ball into the back of the net.

Sunderland 5-0 West Brom
Babacar broke the deadlock as he latched onto Nzogbias near post cross and passed it into the pack of the net. Nzogbia played architect again as his corner found the head of Bramble who headed home at the back stick. Once again Nzogbias cross was deadly as turner headed in from the near post. Rakitic then profited from some good work by Cattermole after he won the ball on the edge of West broms area and played in his midfield partner who rounded the keeper and scored. Bent finished off the scoring as he came off the bench and sloted a penalty home.

Sunderland 3-1 Wigan

Henderson played the ball to the winger who smashed it first time just inside the box. Roux then added the second of the game of the 20th minute with an even better long rane shot as he curled the ball into the top corner. Sanchez grabbed his second as we broke and Carcela lead the attack down the left and played a pinpoint pass along the goal line to find Sanchez free to slot home. The final goal was the best team goal as Babacar started off the passing movement and then finished it himself after a pass by Kompany.

Sunderland 3-2 Stoke ( League cup Semi Final First Leg, Away )
Babacar gave us the lead on the 32nd minute, Turnbulls goal kick found the head of Kompany and his header played Babacar through and he done the rest as he dribbled into the box and finished. Alexis Sanchez scored on the 45th minute as he headed in Nzogbias freekick. Sanogo grabbed the third as Nzogbias well timed pass inside the box found the young striker who took one touch then finished well. Stoke grabbed 2 back as Sanli’s cross found Whitehead in the box as he scored against his former team on the 77th minute. The goal clearly rocked sunderland as they once again conded just two minutes later on the 79th minute as Sanli once again found a through ball for team mate Bergessio who ran and finished well.

Arsenal 4-1 Sunderland
Rakitic scored on the 15th minute and i thought wed be able to go on and win but our team just fell completely apart and im disgusted as we didn’t even make an effort to get back in the game, the lads have thrown away an unbeaten run and im disappointed in them. Diaby scored a double for arsenal with nasri and Van Persie both scoring.

Sunderland 3-1 Blackburn
Things didn’t look good today especially after the heavy loss to arsenal, things got worse after 7 minutes whenever Lucas Biglia slammed his volley home. Bent equalised just before half time on the 42nd minute as substitute roux played a one two and played his partner through. Roux then scored an absolute cracking effort on the 49th minute as the corner fell to him outside of the box and he curled another shot into the top corner, seems the lads long shots are really improving. Roux then scored again on the 90th minute as Mattock floated a brilliant ball in.

Sunderland 2-0 Stoke ( League Cup Semi Final Second Leg)
Rakitic scored yet another screamer today as he scored from 30 yards, the ball flew into the top corner. Great technique, the lads long shots are redicolously good. Roux grabbed the second as he profited from some brilliant play once more from Rakitic as he played Roux through who finished well just moments after ratteling a shot against the bar.

Sunderland 2-0 Burnley ( FA Cup 4th Round)
Roux grabbed a first half double to secure what was an easy win as Sunderland met all expectations in a dominant win.

Sunderland 3-0 Birmingham
Yaya Sanogo scored after 8 minutes after a lovely passage of play with Roux who has been brilliant lately. Roux then scored his 20th of the season as he rounded foster and scored. Roger Johnson then scored an own goal to complete the rout before half time. Everytime Roux was on the ball he looked dangerous and we always looked like scoring today.

Sunderland 2-0 Man Utd
This really should read Sanchez 2-0 Man Utd, if it hadn’t have been for the trickey winger we would have never won this game. Firstly he and Roux combined brilliantly for the first goal as he crossed it in and Roux dove infront of Adler to head home, he then Crossed in for Bent to head home after he came off the bench.

Sunderland 1-1 Everton
This match was one of the more boring matches of the season, a stupid mistake by left back mattock gave Everton a Penalty which Yakubu easily slotted home. We didn’t equalise until the 70th minute thanks to a smart shot by Sanchez. Even though we had more shots we never really looked threatening despite having 3 strikers up front for the last half hour.

Sunderland 2-1 Sevilla ( ECC Knockout round 1st Leg)
Burdisso headed us into the lead on the 14th minute as he rose above the Sevilla defence to bury his header. Things got worse for Sevilla as Dabo got sent off, realising they had a chance a bit more pace was injected into the side to stretch the ten men of sevilla as Darren Bent came on, the striker had an imdediate impact as he was set up by another substitute in Jordan Henderson to score. Sevilla pulled one back on the 87th minute as Alexis scored from the corner however sunderland have a goal advantage and two away goals.

Sunderland 2-1 Leeds ( FA Cup 5th Round )
The scorline shows a close game but it was anything but close, we had 33 shots compared to just 7 by leeds. It took some brilliance from Babacar to equalise after Leeds took a first half lead from a corner. Babacar skint two players then in typical fashion passed the ball into the net. Sanogo scored the second as winger Sanchez played a ball right into his feet and he scored.

Arsenal got a goal late on from the corner but it was nothing more than a consolation goal.

Sunderland 5-1 Ipswich
Burdisso scored early on in the 4th minute as he headed home from the corner. Yaya Sanogo then scored on the 18th minute as he scored after a brilliant through ball from Lee Cattermole. Babacar then scored a brilliant individual effort as he took the ball from outside the area skipped past a few players then chipped the keeper inside the box. Burdisso then grabbed a second as he headed in Nzogbias dangerously whipped in ball.

Sunderland 4-0 Stoke
The stats say it all 14 shots to just 2 from stoke. We easily dominated this game today and once again Sanchez was man of the match, the lads performances have been brilliant lately. Sanchez got the scoring going on the 37th minute as he rifled his shot into the top corner and was brilliantly taken. Roux is claiming the next goal but to be fair he knew nothing about it, it was Babacars left foot volley which struck Roux on the way to goal and it dribbled in. Babacar made surte there was nothing dubious about his next goal as he raced through to reach Rakitic’s trhough ball and passed the ball into the net. Sanchez then grabbed his second as he turned the defender on the edge of the area and smashed home.

Sunderland 1-1 Aston Villa
Terrible match, the lads weren’t up for it at all, Agbonlahor scored on the 32nd minute but Babacar equalised on the 63rd after he tapped in his own rebounded shot. Just a few mintues later Sanchez had to come of injured and with all three substitutions already being made we had to finish the game with 10 men.

Sunderland 2-0 Shaktar ( Champions League Quarter Final 1st Leg)
This game didn’t go as expected, firstly Kompany had to come off after just 29 minutes then Nedum Onouha was sent off after 49 minutes and in all honesty i thought we were going to loose this one. But young centre back Phil Jones headed in from the corner on the 57th minute. Darren Bent then scored on the 79th minute as Jovetic knocked Hendersons cross back into the box and Bent met it and powered his shot home.

Sunderland 2-3 West Ham
Our performances in the league have been nothing short of ****. The lads will all be fined. Genuinly disgusted. A 2-2 draw wouldn’t have been to bad but Angeleri the long haired freak gave away a penalty in the last few minutes. ****.

Sunderland 2-1 Shaktar ( 4-1 Aggregate Champions League Quarter final Second Leg)
Carlos alberto gave Shaktar the lead after 33 minutes with a cracking shot into the top corner but after our half time team talk we looked the more hungry side. It took just ten minutes into the second half for us to equalise as Nzogbia broke free on the left and powered a shot into the back of the net. Next up was Babacar who scored his 30th goal of the season thanks to a Bent through ball.

Sunderland 1-0 West Ham ( FA Cup Semi Final)
We dominated this match with 20 shots to just 4 aswell as majority possession. It took some great work from wonderkid paring of Sanogo and Babacar to win the match, the two substitutes came on and it wasn’t until the 93rd minute that they scored. Sanogo played a lovely through ball for partner Babacar who tucked away nicely to send the lads to Wembley for the Final.

Liverpool 3-1 Sunderland
Were ******* terrible lately. Absolutely disgusted in the lads.

Marseille 1-1 Sunderland ( Champions league Semi Final 1st Leg)
We really didn’t deserve anything in this match and in all honesty i would have been happy with a one goal loss away from home but thelads showed great spirit. Firstly Gignac missed a penalty thanks to a great save by Pyatov. Valbuena scored on the 80th minute as he headed in a Remy cross. But Marseille turned defensive to hold onto the lead which was there downfall as we pushed forward Bent scored on the 90th minute.

Sunderland 4-2 Bolton
Things started terribly today for us as Ngog and Cahill both scored within the first ten minutes and things didn’t look bright at all, to be honest i though we were going to get hammered. Babacar started off the fightback as he scored from a Joe Mattock deep cross.Onouha then scored the equaliser on the 45th minute from a jack colback corner. Richardson then scored a 25 yard volley which took a deflection on its way in. Babacar then scored his second as he latched onto Bents through ball. This loss relegated Bolton
.
Sunderland 2-2 Marseille
We crash out on the away goals ruling, im disgusted and i am genuinely considering my role at the club as i think this is as far as i can take them, the club and players mentality isn’t a winning one despite winning 4 consecutive trophies. Jones got sent of after half an hour. We gave away a penalty then couldn’t hold onto a lead and lost on the 91st minute. Utterly disgusted.

Sunderland 1-1 Man City
Weve lost pole position in the league thanks to our terrible defending and not being able to keep a lead. The league will now be decided in our last match against Liverpool.

Reports from Wearside, Manager race is said to be enraged with his sunderland side and could step aside if someone big comes in, Real Madrid did approach him last summer but he rejected and stayed on at sunderland.
