I recommend Clement Grenier from Lyon, who you can get cheap in the first season, or Blaise Matuidi, whose contract is expiring at the end of the season,

thanks guys, glad to hear you enjoy it! I've currently in a save file with rennes that has seen me finish consecutively in champions league spots for the past 3 seasons, and winning the coupe de france, and I've made a profit from players; that's how good their youth team is and it's great fun promoting the youth rather than just buying players all the time. glad you're all enjoying the challenge and I'd be happy to hear people's updates
